A 20-year-old Mountain View remains in jail after beating a woman while she was holding a child. Randy Lee Hale, III is accused of forcing his way into a residence on May 7 and assaulting the mother of his child before forcibly ripping the baby from her arms. When Officer Koleman McDaniel of the Mountain View Police Department arrived on scene, the woman was still bleeding from the attack, and the child had visible fingerprint bruises on his arms.
Hale had been invited to visit the child in the yard of the residence but initiated an attack that left the woman with a black eye, fist-sized bruises, cuts, scratches, and marks around her neck from apparent choking. According to court documents, this attack took place while she was holding an 18-month-old baby. Officer McDaniel’s probable cause statement notes this is Hale’s second arrest in two weeks for assault on the same victim.
Hale has been charged with first degree burglary, third degree domestic assault, and first degree endangering the welfare of a child, all felonies. He remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
