MAN WHO FLED FROM POLICE ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

On April 28, at approximately 9:48 p.m., West Plains Police Department officers observed a motorcycle with lighting violations in the area of Halstead Street. Officers made contact with the subject on the motorcycle who was identified to be 53-year-old Sean Boyer of West Plains.

Boyer fled from officers on the motorcycle south on Halstead and then west on Webster Avenue until he lost control and crashed in the area of Webster Avenue and Harms Street. Boyer then fled on foot but was caught by officers. Boyer then began physically resisting arrest until officers were able to place him in handcuffs. The subject was then transported to the Howell County Jail without further incident.
West Plains Police K-9 Loki searched the area where Boyer fled for any narcotics or contraband the subject may have thrown out while he was fleeing. K-9 Loki alerted to the presence of narcotics in the area, and officers recovered a bag that contained multiple suspected controlled substances.
Boyer is currently being held without bond for a parole violation arrest warrant. Additional charges from the incident were filed with the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on April 30. Those charges include possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, driving while revoked, and resisting arrest for a felony, along with multiple traffic violations.
