Mayor Topliff Sworn In

Mike Topliff was sworn in as the Mayor of the City of West Plains at a special session of the City Council on April 30. A recently re-elected city councilor, Topliff has served as mayor pro tem for several years, making him the natural successor as Mayor Jack Pahlmann’s retirement became official at the end of April.
City Clerk Mallory Snodgrass administered the Oath of Office, and the torch was officially passed. Mayor Pahlmann was at ease with the changeover, commenting with a smile to Topliff as he resumed his seat, “It’s your turn, wouldn’t you say?”
Mayor Topliff addressed the assembly briefly to express his excitement to work with the new City Administrator, Sam Anslem, as well as the yet-to-be determined city councilor who will be appointed at the meeting that took place on Monday, May 3.
“We can come together as a community to make progress,” Topliff concluded.
