Mtn. View Garden Club Yard of the Month

The September Yard of the Month was awarded to Tom Antrim at 314 Sharp Street. The lawn in this yard is a lush carpet of Zoysia Grass. In the middle of the yard is a flowering Dogwood tree that is planted in a raised bed with many perennial plants and a concrete bench with an angel watching over everything in the yard. There are Hydrangeas on the side of the house as well as Rose bushes with a few blooms still hanging on. As you pass under the arbor into the backyard there is a pergola in the center of the yard. All of the paths are made of flat rocks or blocks. More Hydrangeas are near the rear of the home, with woodsy Ferns and other plants. Antrim's late wife, Sandy, was the gardener and keeper of the flower beds, but the structures and hardscape were all crafted by Antrim. Mrs. Antrim was the recipient of the Yard of the Month on several occasions when she was still living. Pride of ownership is evident throughout the property. Antrim is a gifted woodworker. It was a pleasure to walk around his beautiful yard and see his wood projects and rock collection.
