An opportunity to honor

Troop G Directors of the Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society, “The MASTERS”, are seeking donations to fund the purchase of a monument memorializing troopers who have fallen in the line duty. This monument will be placed on the lawn at the Troop G Headquarters in Willow Springs, Missouri.
Local MASTERS Directors Mike Pace, Major MSHP (Ret), Mark Inman, Captain MSHP (Ret), and Jack Pahlmann, retired Mayor of West Plains, are asking for public support and contributions. The estimated cost is $20,000, including installation and lighting. Installation is expected in Spring of 2022.
“This is a project we need to do,” said MASTERS Director Emeritus Jack Pahlmann. “The troopers we have lost in Troop G deserve to be honored and remembered.”
Since the formation of MASTERS in 1979, the Missouri State Highway Patrol has experienced 21 line of duty deaths. Three of those deaths were troopers serving Troop G:  Trooper Kelly Poynter, Line of Duty Death January 2002,  Sergeant Dewayne Graham, LoDD March 2005, and Trooper Kevin  Floyd, LoDD September 2005..
The Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society, “The MASTERS”, was formed in 1979 for the purpose of establishing an entirely voluntary benevolent fund for the financial aid of a trooper’s immediate surviving family member (wife or husband) and children if he or she is killed in the line of duty. The surviving family member is paid immediately a certain sum of money to help with their unexpected short-term expenses. Directors of The MASTERS from that area take the troopers’ family under their protective guidance, and from this fund help solve their financial challenges.
