Pomona water district manager wins statewide award

Don Eddie Wheat, Operations Manager at Howell County PWSD #1, won the Dell Cornell Scholarship to attend the Missouri Rural Water District Association’s Annual Conference.
Statewide, there are two scholarships awarded to attend the conference, and each recipient must be nominated.
Wheat’s nomination says he is “an asset to the district” with a “strong sense of community.”
“Don Eddie is one of those individuals that is always striving to learn alternative ways to accomplish the district’s goals and certainly is a good communicator between the Board and the public,” reads the nomination.
Frank Mydler, PWSD #1 Board President, told Howell County News that Wheat “excels at his work.”
The scholarship paid Wheat’s tuition to the conference in St. Charles, Mo. earlier this month as well as the cost of a hotel. Attending the conference allowed him to add necessary hours towards renewing his operator’s license.
