Pot Bust Near Pomona

On July 31, Howell County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Foster conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 60/63 near Pomona. The stop was initiated for an obstructed license plate that was not plainly visible, said a statement from the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.

Inside the vehicle was a man and a woman who advised Deputy Foster they were traveling from Los Angeles, Calif. to an unknown destination in Tennessee. Upon further investigation, the two were arrested for illegally transporting a large quantity of marijuana. As of press time, the names of the accused and information on any related charges was unavailable.
