Sales tax holiday begins Aug. 5

Howell County Presiding Commissioner Mark Collins issued a statement last week reminding residents that the Commission voted last year to opt in on the back-to-school sales tax holiday. This year's sales tax holiday is in effect the first Friday in August through Sunday. 

"[We hope to] encourage residents to stay and shop locally in Howell County and to help with costs," said the Commissioner's statement.
