Siren Bowl Raises $2,070

The Annual Texas County Siren Bowl took place on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The event raised $2,070 for the Texas County Shop with a Hero Program.  Funds were raised through a silent auction held at the event, concession stand and entry fees.
“This was a great event, and I would like to thank everyone who volunteered, donated and came out to watch.,” stated Program Chairman Bennie Cook.
A large crowd attended the annual fundraiser and were able to see the highest scoring game since the siren bowl began. The Texas County Law Enforcement scored 87 runs, and the Texas County Fire Fighters/Emergency Services scored 85. One rule change that was made during the game was to allow the purchasing of runs. This rule changed almost helped the fire fighters win the game, but they could not hold back the Texas County Law team. A great time was had by both teams and the crowd. Announcer Jason Pounds provided some great entertaining music for both teams.
The teams consisted of players from Missouri State Highway Patrol, Texas County Sheriff’s Department, Licking Police Department & Fire Department, Houston Police Department & Fire Department, Raymondville Fire Department, Houston Rural Fire Department, Cabool Police Department & Fire Department, Summersville Fire Department, and the Tyrone Fire Department.
Sponsors of the game were Retired Sheriff Carl Watson, VIP Properties, Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston Lions Club, Walmart, Moore Insurance, Millers Grill, Doug Smith, Cozumel Restaurant, D & L Florist, Houston School District, Tony & Christy Koch, Jon & Lindsay Koch, Jacked Up Fitness, Simmons Bank, Tim Garnica & Family, Sheriff Scott Lindsey, and State Representative Bennie Cook.
