Street project moves forward

Phase 2 of the Alaska St. Project is moving forward. Meeting in regular session on July 18, Council passed a resolution authorizing the city administrator to sign a contract amendment with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. of Springfield. This is the third amendment to the contract for the Alaska Street phase of the Governor's Cost Share Grant. This particular phase will cover Alaska Street from 9th Street to 6th Street.
The contract with CMT will be paid from the City's transportation budget. These funds will be matched by the Governor's Cost Share.
"This was an expected expense as the Governor's Cost Share was designed to cover half of the construction cost of the total project," states City documents.
Later in the meeting, Councilman Josh Cotter made a motion, seconded by Councilwoman Jessica Nease, to approve a bid from Cary Stewart Construction of West Plains for $495,518.80 for Phase 2 of the Alaska Street Project. It was the low bid of the two received.
In other business, a motion approving the consent agenda passed. The consent agenda included approving a liquor license from Nathan and April Snider, owners of Pizzaritaville, LLC on Gibson Ave. It also included the approval of the destruction of certain records, including: petition for Clean Air Initiative from 2014, cash receipts from fiscal years 2016-2021, banking and investment records from fiscal years 2018-2020, and utility billing work orders from 2014-2018.
