TCMH Healthcare Foundation breaks fourth consecutive fundraising record at annual golf tournament

TCMH Healthcare Foundation hosted its 18th Annual TCMH Charitable Golf Tournament sponsored by Simmons Bank on Saturday, June 8, at the Houston Municipal Golf Course. With a full bracket of 36 teams participating, the Foundation raised an unprecedented $24,213.01, beating the previous record set just last year.

"This is the fourth consecutive year that we've broken our all-time fundraising record," Jeff Gettys, President of the TCMH Healthcare Foundation, said. "Our success reflects our community's incredible generosity and shared commitment to quality healthcare."

The tournament featured an exciting 18-hole two-person scramble divided into four flights. Winners were announced across the Championship Flight, A-Flight, B-Flight, and C-Flight. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams in each category.

Roger Tune and Derrick Shelton won the Simmons Bank Championship Flight. Ron Murray and Larry Barton took second place, while Dr. Stephen Hawkins and Gary York took third.

The A-Flight, sponsored by West Plains Bank & Trust, saw Justin Shelby and Larry Benoist clinch the first position. Roger and Deanna Tune finished second, with Gary Lee Taylor and Harlin Hutchinson finishing third.

Ty Albrecht and Aaron Spaulding won the Town & Country Bank-sponsored B-Flight, followed by Curt and Jennifer Hugenot in second place and Kevin Stilley and Mike Williams in third.

In the C-Flight, sponsored by Justin Shelby State Farm, Nathan Wilson and Mike Wilson secured first place. Kevin Crowley and Bill Crowley clinched second, while Jeremy Wink and Andy Edwards finished third.

Additional contests around the course added an extra level of excitement. David Snodgras came out on top in the Closest to the Pin competition at Hole #3. Wilson Murray landed within an inch of the pin in the VIP Properties Big Advantage Hole, while Lane Wade claimed victory in the Longest Putt contest at Hole #6. Justin Brown won the Piney River Ford – Vegas Par-3, and the Sun Solar Longest Drive Competition at Hole #9 saw Gary York and Loquetta Nash drive the farthest.

"Our corporate underwriters, Town & Country Bank, H4, Sun Solar, West Plains Bank & Trust, and Hiett Land Title, LLC. were instrumental in this year's success," Gettys stated. "We're also grateful to the numerous local businesses and individual sponsors who made this event possible."

Proceeds from the tournament will provide scholarships for healthcare-related occupations and resources for capital projects. The TCMH Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure quality healthcare services at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

"We are dedicated to ensuring high-quality healthcare services for all members of our community," Gettys stated. "With the ongoing support of our donors and participants, we eagerly anticipate hosting another record-breaking tournament in 2025."
