Tennessee Man Drowns in Current River

A Memphis, Tenn. man lost his life when he drowned in the Current River on July 12. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Edgar Racanec Sacach, 38, attempted to swim across the river at Shote Hole, went under the water, and did not resurface. He was located a short time later downstream in a shallow area. Racanec Sacach was pronounced dead at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital by Dr. Ani Nadipelli at 16:14 p.m.
