Tooley honored for receiving registered clerk designation

Heather Tooley, center, was recognized by the city government last week for achieving the first level certification of Missouri Registered City Clerk (MRCC). Tooley, Willow Springs City Clerk, was joined by the Clerks for West Plains and Ava, who presented her with a plaque and flowers in honor of the achievement. “In my eyes, the certification itself is not what's important - it's the training and expansion of knowledge. This keeps all clerks and finance officers up to date on the changing laws and policy requirements, but it also gives us good reminders on etiquette and how to balance our professional and personal lives. Being a part of MoCCFOA has allowed me to continue developing important life skills, as well as developing relationships with clerks both locally and across the state…As long as I am employed with the City of Willow Springs and the Council allows me, I will continue to attend meetings and conferences to stay well versed in the changing requirements of my work. Working for the City and serving the community where I have lived my entire life is both an honor and a privilege,” Tooley told Howell County News.

“Heather has been through a lot, and for her to receive this under all of those condition is beyond anybody’s imagination. I want everyone to understand the asset she is to our community and to me. I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know,” commented City Administrator Beverly Hick Thursday night.
