Trick-Or-Treat date and time set in Mtn. View

The Mountain View Board of Alderman met on Tuesday, Oct. 8 for the monthly meeting. They set the date for the annual trick-or-treating festivities in town. This year, Mountain View will celebrate Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 26. Trick-or-treating will be held in town from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Street closures for the annual Halloween Fest will begin at 12:00 noon for set-up and conclude shortly after 8:00 p.m. The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce will host a trunk-or-treat at the Mountain View Community Center from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
 
Old Business
- Resolution No. 24-10-08 authorizing Mayor to sign a cell tower lease with CitySwitch, LLC was tabled. This will allow CitySwitch to erect, install, operate and maintain a wireless communications facility on real estate owned by the city. It was tabled due to lack of information regarding who is responsible for removal when no longer in use.
- Wastewater usage rate update, still waiting on information from the Department of Natural Resources.
 
New Business
- Sept. 10 minutes were approved.
- Department reports were accepted as presented.
- Open propane bids with a bid from Mountain View Oil Company at the rate of $1.799 per gallon was accepted.
- Scheduled claims list was accepted.
- Brightspeed account update where five accounts were closed that were no longer working or in use at a savings of $4,091 per year.
- 123 N. Elm St. property was discussed and per city attorney's advice, needs to be open to the public to walk through, if interested, a notice will be published.
- West side Oak St. Buildings-sewer connection were discussed with HR Quadri and Toth Assoc. due to the sewer connections not functioning properly. This issue is to bellowed up by HR Quadri and Toth Assoc.
- Financial report for 8 months was presented.
- New commercial electrical service installation charge approved.
- Ordinance No. 1762 amending City Code 69.830 new electrical service installation charges
- Ordinance No. 1763 amending City Code 69.825 new water service installation charges
- Schedule dates for council workshops for Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 at 6:00 p.m.
- GreensPro quote for $59,864.75 for the golf course was approved.
 
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mayor Charry McCann announced an LWCF grant for the pool, airport paving project moving forward with MoDOT FAA grant money and job openings within the city at the parks department for a maintenance worker and in the electric department for a groundman.
