Willow Springs Man Charged with Child Molestation

Detectives with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeremy Collins, 40, of Willow Springs, on September 9. Collins was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal child molestation charges as a result of an investigation led by Detective Kobby Roberts and Detective Nathan Long with the assistance of Douglas County Department of Family Services Children’s Division. Formal charges of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy (person less than 12 years of age) and first degree child molestation were filed by the Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney’s office on September 10. 
An open-court-only cash bond was set at $25,000.00. The bond carries the conditions that the accused have no contact with the victim or any children under 17. Collins posted the full amount of the bond on September 17. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before the Honorable Elizabeth A. Bock in Douglas County on October 14.
