A formerly uncontested race in the city of Mountain View now has two contenders. Write-in candidate Brigg Pierson has announced his candidacy for East Ward Alderman. He opposes the candidate who will appear on the ballot – Judi Colter.
The seat in question, a two-year term, is currently vacant. Colter was appointed to this alderman seat but had to step down because the motion that approved her was made by her relative by marriage, sitting Alderwoman Brenda Colter. B. Colter has since been removed from the board of aldermen. For more on that, see the front page.
Other races in the city include a one-year term for East Ward Aldermen, recently vacated by Steven Sills, that is contested by Vicki Carr and David Bauer.
A two-year term for West Ward Alderman, currently held by Lindell Vandevort, has two contenders – Calvin Perry and Lucinda Burton.
Sitting mayor John Krasuski is running unopposed.
