Charles (Chuck) W. McClellan

Charles (Chuck) W. McClellan, age 63, went to be with Jesus on February 12, 2023, after complications from a stroke on January 31st. while returning home from a week-long vacation with family in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Chuck was born in Peoria, IL on March 1st, 1959. He grew up in Mountain View MO spending much of his spare time riding and showing horses. He graduated from Liberty High school in Mountain View, MO in 1977. Chuck attended Drury University in Springfield, MO where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He spent most of his career in the food industry, managing different food chains in positions ranging from Catering manager, general manager, and regional manager. After retirement he got his CDL and began driving the OATS bus part time. He enjoyed the crew he drove because he said he could connect with them
and loved making them laugh and smile. Chuck loved taking vacations with his family to Mexico, playing spades, going to Silver Dollar City, spending time with his grandchildren and watching Hallmark Movies! He was nicknamed Chuckles by his close family who loved to hear him laugh and knew he loved to be the life of every party! He was always acting silly, being sarcastic and making jokes. He has left a large hole in the hearts of many.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Mary McClellan and siblings Vernell German and Donita Brooks. He is survived by his daughter Mendy Medlam and her husband Dustin; his grandkids Noah, Mariah, and Jordan Medlam; his ex-wife and friend Janice Smith and countless cousins and extended family that he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church (2210 W Republic Road)in Springfield, MO on Saturday, March 11th from 10-11am with the funeral directly following. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 12th at Pilgrim Rest cemetery in Mountain View, Mo at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Chuck’s memory to Ridgecrest Baptist Church; Global Impact Fund.
