Ina Gene (Hankey) Gill

Ina Gene (Hankey) Gill, 72, was taken home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Her beloved niece, Regena Lee (Ledbetter) Radford was with her at her home in Ash Flat, AR at the time of her death.
Ina Gene (Hankey) Gill was born November 13, 1949, daughter of Eugene Edward and Inez Katherine (Brown) Hankey in Mountain View, MO. She was raised on the family Farm and attended Mtn. View schools. Through the years she resided in Salem, MO Mountain View, MO (worked at the bowling alley, bank, pharmacy, and Angelica) and Jonesboro, AR. At the time of her death she was living in Ash Flat, AR where she and her late husband Lester Burl Gill, Jr. (married Feb 13, 1994) had enjoyed their home in the hills and creek area on their property. She enjoyed yard work, landscaping, and planting flower gardens. Ina Gene was employed in several occupations prior to retiring. Upon moving to Ash Flat she wanted to give back to the community and became active in establishing the Ash Flat Library and joined in area clubs including the historical society, gem and mineral club, gardening, and others. She was a dreamer of better things and put forth the effort to make them a reality as she helped plan events, speakers, and programs to encourage interest. Always a seeker of "Educational Experiences" she was a lifelong learner wanting to share her joy of living. As the family genealogist she treasured past and present, organizing several reunions and compiled notebooks of our history for future generations.
Ina Gene is survived by her sister Frances Lee (Hankey) Ledbetter and husband Wesley Alvin of Mountain View, MO nephew Wesley Eugene Ledbetter and wife Shalita Kay (Horst); niece Regena Lee (Ledbetter) Radford and husband Derrick Allen; four great nieces Christian Taylor Radford and partner Stanley Stricklin of Birch Tree, MO; Haley Elizabeth Radford, Sydney Hope Radford, and Grace Marie Radford of Mountain View, MO; one great niece Paisley Grace Stricklin of Birch Tree, MO; brother-in-law Robert Gill, and stepchildren Jason and Emily and families of Arkansas; many more relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband Lester Burl Gill, Jr. and her parents Eugene and Inez Hankey, and numerous other relatives.
Burial was held on March 25 at the Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat, AR. As her niece Regena said that though "our hearts ache we can be joyful." As we know she is celebrating with her Savior.
The family wishes to thank all relatives and friends for their caring and support. She loved big, was loved big, and will be greatly missed.
