JACKIE LOU (EMMERICH) HINDS

Jackie Lou (Emmerich) Hinds, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, while at Willow Care Nursing Home. She was born October 17, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of the late Jesse and Amanda Belle (Wilson) Emmerich Taylor; she was 91 years old.

 

Jackie lived most of her childhood in Kansas, but later moved to Willow Springs during her freshman year of high school. She graduated from Willow Springs High School Class of 1948. Jackie accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized at the First Christian Church in Willow Springs on April 28, 1947. She was a faithful member of the Pomona Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She married Charles Robert (Bob) Hinds on October17, 1948,  and to this union four children were born. Jackie was a faithful wife and mother who provided many meals for her family and friends who stopped by. She loved music and sang in a ladies' trio called the Steepletone's for several years. Jackie was a licensed insurance sales agent at the Farm Bureau Insurance office in West Plains for 17 years. She was an avid reader; she also had a photographic memory, and it has been said that you could ask her any questions regarding history, geography, or politics and she would know the answer.

 

She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her.

 

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law, Clinton Hinds and Bill Hinds and sister-in-law, Goldie Hinds.

 

She is survived by her husband, Bob Hinds; three daughters: Karen Foster and her husband, Steve; Cindy Wehmer and her husband, Lou; and Sandy Hinds Franklin and her husband, Mike; and a son, Kelly Hinds and his wife, Cindy. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Amy Hinds; Brett Foster and his wife, Susan; Joel Hinds and his wife, Casey; Scott Foster and his wife, Audrey; Amanda Perkins and her husband, Matt; and Emily Bolander and her husband, Drew; and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Jackie's memory be made to the Pomona Christian Church Building Fund, and they may be left at the church or the funeral home.

 

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the Pomona Christian Church with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Joel Hinds, Scott Foster, and Marcus Allen officiating.
