Ralph Eddie Hood, Senior

Ralph Eddie Hood, Senior, 82, was born February 18, 1943, to Ralph Jesse and Geraldine Lois (Anderson) Hood. He went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2025.

 

He was wed to Velma Louise Kentner, in Holy Matrimony, on March 6, 1964. They were married for 61 years, 1 month and 20 days. Together they built a life filled with family, hard work, and lasting memories. Velma went to be with the Lord October 1, 2024. Now they’re together with God.

 

Eddie was a born-again child of God. He was a deacon and lifelong member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Hutton Valley, Missouri. Grandad, as most of us know him by, was a Godly man. He walked with the Lord, and loved his family in the Lord, living a Godly life.

 

He is survived by his four children, Teresa Michelle Kimbell and husband Mark, Kristen Lynn Gausepohl, Ralph Edward Hood, Jr. and wife Darla, and Eric Jason Hood; his grandchildren, Justin Kimbell, Nathan Kimbell, Jessica Savage and husband Chris, Caitlin Kimbell, Taylor Davis and husband Drew, Dalton Gausepohl, Brandon Hood, Brooke Hood, Abby Stanley and husband Chris, Alex Hood, and Anna Hood; his great-grandchildren, Ryder, Janessa, Makayla, Braunson, Daizy, Ender, Isley, Adrienne, Madelyn, Benjamin, and Jiraiya; his siblings, Beverly Daniels, Connie Daniels, and Gloria Deatherage; his wife’s siblings, Frances Baldwin, Roger Kentner, Carmen Daniels and Melody Coffee; and a host of other family and friends that will miss him greatly.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, in-laws, and brother, David Wayne Hood.

 

A family-guided memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 18, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Hutton Valley, Missouri, with Pastor Ralph Eddie Hood, Jr. officiating.
