Sawyer Jens

Sawyer Reid Jens, age two, of Willow Springs, MO, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023. Born to Brian and Laura Jens on October 20, 2020, Sawyer radiated joy everywhere he went. He loved playing in the mud, cuddling, and being just like his older brother and sister, Landyn and Harper. He never knew a stranger and always brought a tender sweetness with him, as well as a monster truck and a pair of cowboy boots.

Sawyer is preceded in death by three unborn siblings as well as his grandfather, James Jens, and his aunt Angela Jens. He is survived by his parents, his older brother and sister, and his unborn sister, Hannah. He is also survived by grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, friends, and a church family who love him dearly.

The family prays that in the midst of this tragedy, anyone who has heard Sawyer’s story will turn to the Lord Jesus Christ as their Comforter and Savior. May his sweet life bring glory to his Father in heaven, and may those who mourn for him remember these words: “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” This promise of hope, even in grief, is available to all who call on the name of Jesus.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Willow Springs on Wednesday, March 8 at 6pm, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, with the funeral to follow at the same location on Thursday, March 9 at 10 am, with Pastor Jason Gunter officiating, followed by a graveside service at Mount Zion cemetery in Poe Hill, MO. In lieu of flowers, the Jens family asks that you make donations to First Baptist Church Willow Springs. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com
