Since so many people are wanting to voice their opinion by voting in the Presidential Primary this year, we wanted to share some information:
The Republican run Congress in Missouri voted to defund the Presidential Primary for both the Republican and Democrat state parties.
The Republican State Party is holding an inperson caucus for registered Republican voters to pick their presidential candidate.
The Democrat state party is offering Missouri Democrats, Independents and other parties (excluding registered Republicans) two ways to vote in the Primary Election for President:
Many have been asking for information for Texas County registered voters:
1) On the day of the Primary (March 23, 2024) Texas County Democrats, Independents and other parties (excluding registered Republicans) can cast their vote in person between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and noon at the lower level of the county government center in Houston, Missouri.
2) or
3) Starting February 1, 2024 Democrats, Independents and other parties (excluding registered Republicans) can request a write in ballot for the Presidential Primary from the Missouri Democratic party website (missouridems.org). Once on the website, just click on request a ballot and follow the instructions. This request period will close on March 12, 2024.
4) Ballots must be returned to the Missouri Democrat party by 10:00 a.m. on March 23, 2024. Return postage is paid for by Missouri Democrat party and the ballots do not have to be notarized.
It is to be noted that this election cycle for the Presidential Primary does not go through your usual county clerks office. This primary is strickly through the State Democrat party and the State Republican party.
Thanks, and go vote!
