Ephesians 2:4-7 - But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Everyone craves to be loved and to feel special. Consequently, St. Paul said in Ephesians, chapter 2, that while we were in the depths of deadly sin, God already dearly adored us and sent His Son to rescue us so that we might enjoy His redeeming love for eternity to come.
God's love is marvelous indeed, for when we were still enemies of God, "...we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son," (Romans 5:10) for truly, "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17)
But if that's not enough, God's love is even greater because Ephesians 1:4-6 says, "He chose us in him BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD to be holy and blameless in his sight. IN LOVE HE PREDESTINED US for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us IN THE ONE HE LOVES."
Thus, before God ever created this universe, He already picked you to be saved, according to His predetermined grace in Jesus Christ whom He loved!
To dispel any doubt, the apostle repeated what he first said, "In him we were also CHOSEN, having been PREDESTINED according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will." (Ephesians 1:11)
You see, God had a plan from the beginning of Creation, and He wanted you to play a big part! So, He lovingly chose you for salvation at the very beginning of time simply because He decided to! He needed no other reason than your importance to Him. Now, God patiently waits for you to willingly accept the free gift of His saving grace. Will you?
Take joy in knowing that we have always been loved long before our existence and will still be loved by God long after this world is gone, "...that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:7)
