Psalms 50:22 - Listen to this, you that ignore me, or I will destroy you, and there will be no one to save you.
There are natural situations in everyday life that demand our immediate attention to avoid imminent destruction. That's why tornado sirens and bright flashing lights on police cars exist. Likewise, there are select passages of Scripture that provide God's profound warning. The Song of Asaph in Psalms 50 is one of those texts.
Today, the ancient traditions of Christianity in the Western Church are being attacked by the old enemies of Christ's Cross (Philippians 3:18), who have now re-labeled themselves as de-constructionists, de-conversionists, and a plethora of insidious initials in their witch's brew of alphabet soup. But no matter how many letters they add to their vile acronyms, do not be fooled by this whiny bunch of woke militants! They are the very same mob of apostates (Isaiah 30:1, Hebrews 10:26-27, 2 Thessalonians 2:3) and reprobates (Romans 1:28) that God Almighty condemned in ages past.
Because these same people, from ancient times, have refused to keep the true knowledge of God; He has given them over to corrupted minds, so that they do unnatural things that they should not do. These apostate children have imagined counsel (not by God) and made covenants (not by His Holy Spirit) to add untold sins to sins.
Although the third largest Christian denomination in America has recently capitulated to profanity, after being threatened by rabble rousers advocating tolerance, they will all be cast into hell together with anyone who forgets God (Psalms 9:17).
Why?
Asaph answers, "But God says to the wicked, 'Why should you recite my commandments? Why should you talk about my covenant? 17 - You refuse to let me correct you; you reject my commands. 18 - You become the friend of every thief you see, and you associate with adulterers.'" (Psalms 50:16-18)
Tragically, the Western Church assumes, if God does not object in tones of roaring thunder rather than the quiet prohibition of His written Word, then His silence must surely signal divine consent! However, nothing is farther from the truth, "You have done all this, and I have said nothing, so you thought that I am like you. But now I reprimand you and make the matter plain to you." (Psalms 50:21)
So, just how insistent is God that the Church obey His Holy Word? Listen to Asaph again, "Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you." (Psalms 50:22)
That sounds deadly serious to me!
But to those faithful witnesses of Christ who have not yet bowed their knees to current EVIL (Romans 11:4-5), hold the line and fight for TRUTH in the face of this wicked opposition (Jude 1:3-5). Do not give holy ground to Satan or allow him to rob you of God's clearly-worded sacred will (Ephesians 4:27-28).
Despite the cowardly deceitfulness of individuals who abandon their profession, God has truly promised His loyal servants, "I will surely save all who obey me." (Psalms 50:23)
KEEP THE FAITH!
