I love it when a good story links with earlier chapters, when we see the author weaving events together to create an epic story.
Three decades ago a dedicated group of patrons set out to raise money to replace Pack Memorial Library with this beautiful building we have now. Part of that project included selling books written by local authors, and I was an aspiring author. I wrote a children’s book called Lepi and the Magic Tree which was part of that fundraising endeavor. Through the years I wrote for the West Plains Daily Quill and freelanced with Ozarks Farm and Neighbor for seven years. I worked as a public school library paraprofessional while my husband, Matt, started a custom saddle business. I became a teacher and taught Kindergarten through fourth grade Special Education and Resource at Junction Hill Elementary. I was retired for almost a year when I heard that Ms. Beth would be retiring after almost 20 years as library director. Now here I am, returning to the library.
Matt and I have been married for 35 years, we have two terrific sons, Braden and Cole, an amazing daughter in law, Beth, and two beautiful grandchildren, Jace and Adalia.
I am excited to begin this new chapter in my story and to share it with my wonderful neighbors here in our beautiful Ozarks!
