A young person woke us all up

Dear editor,

Congratulations to WSHS Senior Josh Wiese. Mr. Wiese stepped up to the plate for his Senior Project. Saturday Nov 8, at 11 am was the First Annual Willow Springs Veterans Parade. Sometimes it takes a young person to wake the rest of us up. It is obvious to me after watching the parade that Mr. Wiese’s heart was in the right place. His effort was shown, as he was the official starter of this first-time-ever parade.
The good challenge of the WSHS Senior Project was sure shining on this day with Josh Wiese. That is right. Josh got the attention of this WS Citizen. It sure surprises this former WS School teacher that someone showed the passion to say “thank you” to the all the Veterans who gave so much to this country.
During times like these, I believe we should honor and respect these brave unselfish men and women. Furthermore, I would encourage all citizens regardless of age or personal beliefs to keep this parade going year after year.
To anyone and everyone who assisted Josh, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Josh, I don’t know if you know this, you made all of us WS folks very proud to be Americans.

Jane Bailey,
Willow Springs, Mo.
