Calls for Service
April 6
Deputy Nicholas Barslow took a report of stealing. This case is under investigation.
Deputy Barslow responded to a call of threats in the area of State Route JJ, West Plains. Any criminal offense is unfounded at this time.
Sgt. Logan Wake received a referral of possible child abuse. His investigation determined the incident to be disciplinary actions. No charges will be filed.
Deputy First Class Robert Malone responded to a report of a juvenile found walking down the road on County Road 6970 in West Plains. After further investigation he reunited the juvenile with their family.
Deputy Avery Stolba responded to County Road 7300, Caulfield, for a report of a previous assault occurring at Dollar General in Caulfield.
Deputy Michael Pauly overheard radio traffic regarding an individual not breathing on Angelica Street, Mountain View. He responded and assisted Fire and EMS, then took a report as Deputy Coroner.
April 7
Corporal Travis Weaver responded to Gibson Avenue in West Plains at the request of the West Plains Police Department for a narcotics canine deployment. K9 Ares deployed on a motor vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics. West Plains Police Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamine.
Deputy Barslow spoke with an individual about missing livestock in the area of Private Road 6350 in West Plains. This case is under investigation.
Corporal Weaver responded to Broadway Street, West Plains, at the request of the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a narcotic canine deployment. K9 Ares searched and alerted to the odor of narcotics. Officers searched the vehicle but did not locate anything.
Deputy Michael Pauly received a call of a death at Ozarks Health Care and responded as deputy coroner.
April 8
Deputy Kyle Hambelton responded to DD Highway in Oregon County by the request of Oregon County Sheriff’s Office to assist them with Children's Division. The matter should be considered closed unless further information is brought to light.
April 9
Corporal Timothy Gordon responded to the Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View to assist Mountain View Police Department Officers with a combative subject in an emergency room. They ultimately took the individual into custody and transported them to a hospital in West Plains for a psychiatric hold.
Deputy Kyle Hambelton conducted a traffic stop off of Highway 17 near Private Road 8291. He arrested both occupants and transported them to the Howell County Sheriff's Office for drug possession charges.
April 10
Deputy Kyle Holloway conducted a traffic stop on State Route FF in Caulfield that resulted in
an arrest for drug possession charges.
Deputy Rodney Harper responded to State Route 17 south of West Plains for a peace disturbance report.
April 11
Deputy Holloway responded to County Road 1750 and State Route N in Pomona for a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped in the roadway. He arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance. Formal charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office once lab results are received.
Deputy Holloway responded to County Road 6310, West Plains for a report of a domestic altercation. The parties agreed to separate for the night. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
April 12
Deputy Holloway responded to a residence on County Road 8800, West Plains for a report of a burglary. This incident is still under investigation.
Deputy Austin Ryan took a report of stealing.
Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on State Route E, Moody.
