Deputy First Class Jared Hummel observed a passenger car pull up to a dumpster at the corner of Luna Dr. and Independence Dr. He took one individual into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.
Cpl. Logan Wake received a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Road 5120, near Dry Creek Church. After several field sobriety tests, he concluded the driver was in an intoxicated condition.
Corporal Jacob Hamby responded to a possible burglary on County Road 8820 in West Plains. No suspects were located at the scene.
Deputy First Class Tessa Jens responded to a residence on State Route 17 in reference to a possible burglary. Investigation found no one inside or around the residence, and the reporting party advised they found nothing missing.
Deputy First Class Jens responded to a Brandsville residence in reference to a dog bite. Investigation found a juvenile victim. She contacted the owner of the dog. Charges for keeping a dangerous dog will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor.
October 1
Deputy Austin Ryan received notice of a victim reporting a child custody issue.
Deputy First Class Jens went with Children's Division to an address on State Route ZZ to investigate claims of child abuse.
Deputy Jordon Collins responded to a residence located on County Road 2350 to assist Children’s Division with an investigation involving another law enforcement agency. The suspect’s mother refused to cooperate.
Deputy A. Ryan responded to the area of Highway 160 in reference to a disturbance.
Cpl. Wake responded to a residence south of West Plains for a report of a deceased individual. No foul play is suspected.
October 2
Deputy Avery Stolba took a report on County Road 8580 in West Plains in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Deputy A. Ryan responded to the area of County Road 1280 in reference to a domestic disturbance. The suspect left before officer arrival, and the victim and did not wish to pursue charges.
Corporal Hamby received a call regarding an alleged assault that took place at County Road 7550 in Pottersville.
October 3
Deputy Timothy Gordon conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 17 and County Road 2360. Officers arrested the driver for driving while suspended and the suspect resisted the arrest. Controlled substances were found during the following inventory of the vehicle before being towed. They took the suspect into custody and booked then into the jail. Formal charges will be pending.
October 4
Deputy Tyler Ryan took a report of identity theft.
Deputy T. Ryan responded to a business on US Highway 63 for a disturbance in progress. He trespassed the suspect from the property.
Deputy Chancey Hambelton took a report of a burglary.
Corporal Nicholas Bruno responded to an address on Private Road 1778 in reference to a suicidal subject. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.
Deputy T. Ryan took a report of property damage and stealing.
Deputy First Class Brandon Meacham responded to make contact with a victim regarding theft of services. A probable cause affidavit will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for charges of stealing.
October 5
Corporal Bruno responded to a residence on State Route W in reference to a death investigation. This case will be ongoing.
October 6
Deputy First Class Talon Millard received a call of a possible domestic assault that occurred on State Route W near Peace Valley. They separated the parties for the night and no charges have been filed at this time.
