Calls for Service
July 7
Corporal Travis Weaver conducted a refuse collection operation within the city of West Plains. This operation led to a search warrant obtained and served at a residence on Joe Jones Boulevard in West Plains. During this search warrant, officers arrested two occupants on outstanding warrants. During the search of the house, they located approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with a "loaded" syringe also containing suspected methamphetamine. Officers also located multiple digital scales, small baggies, syringes, and glass smoking devices in the search.
Corporal Jacob Hamby received a call for service for a domestic assault in the area of County Road 5740 in Willow Springs. They arrested the suspect and placed them on a 24-hour hold.
Deputy Austin Ryan took a report of property damage.
Deputy Ryan responded to the area of State Route 101 in Caulfield for a requested well-being check. His investigation found one subject with and active arrest warrant. After a scuffle and a short foot pursuit, he took the subject into custody and transported them to the Howell County Jail.
Deputy Hunter Ward took a report of an alleged sexual abuse in Mountain View. This case will be pending further investigation.
Deputy Nicholas Barslow responded to a call of a runaway juvenile in the area of County Road 7880 in Caulfield.
July 8
Deputy Barslow responded to a domestic violence call in the area of Us Highway 60, in Mountain View.
Deputy Hunter Ward responded to a report of alleged child abuse on County Road 8110 in West Plains. They placed one suspect on a 24-hour hold. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
Sergeant Seth Smith received a citizen complaint pertaining to the patrol division. Investigation of the incident discovered an unfounded complaint.
Deputy Michael Pauly received a call regarding a runaway juvenile on County Road 6270, West Plains.
Deputy Pauly received a call regarding shots fired at a male on State Route ZZ near West Plains, which his investigation determined unfounded.
July 9
Deputy Dylan Vice responded to an animal call near County Road 3930 in Mountain View. His investigation found the suspect’s dog killed a neighbor’s chickens. Consider the case closed.
July 11
Deputy Brandon Barnes received a call for service in regard to a full order of protection violation.
Deputy Timothy Gordon responded to a residence in the West Plains area, for a report of a subject under the influence with a firearm threatening to shoot people at the residence. After an investigation, officers arrested the subject. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office and formal charges are pending.
July 12
Deputy Barnes received a call for service regarding a disturbance between multiple individuals.
Deputy Vice conducted a traffic stop on Porter Wagner Blvd from Eighth St in West Plains. The stop led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia. Charges will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.
July 13
Deputy Austin Deshazo responded to a residence located on County Road 6420, West Plains for a report a domestic altercation late on July 12th. An investigation discovered an incident did occur. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Deputy Ward received information about an alleged sexual abuse case on County Road 3080 in Mountain View. This case will be pending further investigation.
Deputy Nicholas Barslow responded to a disturbance call in the area of County Road 1820.
Deputy Avery Stolba responded to an address on County Road 1280 for a verbal disturbance. Officers advised the parties to stay separated until things cooled off.
