Off. First Class McGee provided a courtesy ride for and individual returning home and out of the cold.
January 13
Asst. Chief Stetson Schwien responded to Angelica St. for juvenile problem. The reporting party advised the juvenile would not clean up their room or give up their cell phone. He spoke with the juvenile and convinced them to cooperate with the legal guardian.
Off. First Class McGee received information of a careless and imprudent driver but did not locate the vehicle.
Asst. Chief Schwien responded to the Mountain View Youth Center for a parking issue and found the matter resolved before he arrived.
Lt. Trenton Roberts responded to East Third St for a juvenile problem and assisted in resolving the issue.
Lt. Roberts assisted two separate callers with advice on handling civil matters.
Asst. Chief Schwien conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for possession of paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
Officers issued four traffic warnings.
January 14
Officers issued six traffic warnings.
Officer Kristopher Reinholdt responded to a commercial alarm and found the building secure.
Lt. Roberts assisted two separate callers with information on civil matters.
Lt. Roberts gave a ride home to an individual walking in the snow.
January 15
Officer Alexis Johnson checked on a vehicle that slid off the roadway. The driver did not need assistance.
Off. First Class McGee checked on the wellbeing of an individual sitting in Veteran’s Park and found them to be sledding.
Lt. Roberts received two separate calls for wellbeing checks and did not locate either individual.
Lt. Roberts assisted an individual asking about drug testing a family member they had concerns about.
Cpl Guidry responded to a call of someone screaming. He did not locate any persons but found evidence of someone creating donuts in the snow with a vehicle.
Cpl. Guidry spoke with two separate individuals driving recklessly in the snow and advised them to stop the behavior.
January 16
Officer Matthew Combs assisted with traffic for a disabled semi-truck blocking the roadway.
Officer Combs conducted a wellbeing check on an individual who advised they didn’t want to talk on the phone.
Cpl. Guidry spoke with an individual reporting harassment.
Officer Robert Poindexter spoke with an individual reporting they struck and deer and requested a tag. The party previously called Howell County Sheriff’s Office for assistance, and they would have to wait for them.
January 17
Officer Poindexter provided a courtesy ride to an individual walking.
January 18
Officer Poindexter responded to a call of a house fire on Sara St. The fire department and EMS arrived on scene and did not locate a fire. Investigation decided a blower on an outside furnace produced heavy smoke.
Asst. Chief Schwien responded to a call of a grandmother stating her granddaughter wanted to leave and needed an officer. Children’s Division advised against the juvenile’s request to return to the mother. Juvenile services will be contacted.
January 18
Cpl. Guidry responded to a non-injury vehicle accident.
Off. First Class McGee assisted a Howell County Deputy with a traffic stop.
Officers issued two traffic warnings.
