While on routine patrol Officer Tyler Gill found an open door at a business. He cleared the building and secured it.
Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Second St. for a report of a stolen vehicle. This case will be open pending further investigation.
Officer Ivie Powell responded to the area of Minnesota and Sixth Street for a subject threating to harm himself. EMS transported the individual to OZH for a 96-hour hold for a mental evaluation.
An officer responded to a business for a report of stealing. He found someone had defrauded the business with bad checks for a felony amount. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officer Nathaniel Siegrist responded to Jackson St in reference to a harassment complaint. They transported an individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a 96-hour mental evaluation.
Officer Jerry Mingus responded to Holiday Lane for a runaway juvenile. They located and transported the juvenile to the hospital.
June 17
Officer Powell took a report of medication stolen from an unsecured vehicle.
Officers responded to the area of Aid Avenue regarding a disturbance in progress. An investigation discovered a verbal and physical altercation took place. No charges will be pursued.
June 18
Officer Joseph Tombley responded to Breckenridge apartments for a report of an assault. The incident did not require law enforcement intervention.
Cpl. Michah McKemie assisted another agency with a request for a K9 on a package in West Plains. The K9 alerted to the package and they located suspected narcotics inside.
Officer Jesse Martin arrested an individual with active full US extradition warrants. They transported the subject without incident to the Howell County Jail Facility.
Officers responded to the main entrance of the hospital in reference to a domestic altercation. They discovered a verbal argument turned physical causing damage to property. No charges will be filed at this time.
July 19
Officer Shell investigated a two-vehicle crash blocking the roadway on US Highway 63 just north of State Route K.
While on patrol, Officer Shell observed a male and female subject walking down the center of the street. They later arrested the female subject, and charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
June 20
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a request to assist the United States Postal Inspection Service concerning a child exploitation investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
Officer Shell spoke to an individual regarding a report of a court-ordered child custody violation. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Officer Jacob Miller took a report of stealing.
Officer Miller took a report of harassment. The case will be closed due to an uncooperative victim.
Officer Shell responded to Porter Wagner Blvd. for a report of an assault. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Sgt. Colter Reid responded to Davidson Street in reference to a report of a domestic assault. They took one individual into custody and placed them on a 24 hour hold for domestic assault 3rd degree. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
June 21
While on patrol, Officer Caleb Kerley found an open door. He cleared the building and secured it.
Officer Vernon arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Shell and Officer Mingus responded to the area of Gibson Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Charges will be forwarded to the Municipal Prosecutor for review.
June 22
Officer Vernon responded to Prospect St. for a report of a burglary. His investigation found the suspect stole clothing items from a laundry room. This case will be open and under investigation.
Officer Vernon responded to Prospect St. for a report of a burglary. The residence owner reported while on vacation someone stayed at the house and stole a TV. He identified a suspect, and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Chris Barrett responded to Shuttee Street for a report of an assault.
Officer Tombley responded to West Plains Motel for a report of a dog bite incident. They transported the animal to the West Plains Animal Control Facility.
Officer Gill responded to the area of Washington Avenue for a report of an assault. Officers investigation located all parties involved in the incident. They placed one suspect on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges. This case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
June 23
Officer Vernon responded to a business located on Gibson Ave for a report of trespassing. They issued the individual a citation.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, indicating that Snap, Inc. had observed files depicting child pornography across their servers. The suspect geo-locates to the Douglas County, Missouri area. The investigation is ongoing.
Officer Vernon took a report of theft. An individual reported debit card information stolen.
Officers responded to a storage facility, in reference to a burglary. Their investigation discovered the someone broke into the victim’s storage unit and removed all items inside. This case will be considered closed at this time due to lack of evidence and no suspect information.
Officers responded to a residence in reference to a juvenile problem. They discovered a juvenile made threats to kill their brother. They transported the juvenile to the hospital and completed an affidavit due to the statements the juvenile made.
