July 23
U.S. Cellular on Gibson Street reported that a customer within the business in possession of child sexual abuse material on their cellular device. Det. Joe Neuschwander seized the phone as evidence and charges are pending the completion of digital forensic examinations.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, indicating that Snap, Inc. had observed files depicting child pornography across their servers. The suspect geo-locates to the Douglas County area. The investigation is ongoing.
Officer Vernon took a report of stealing. The investigation revealed the victim had their debit card information stolen. A report will be referred to the Howell County Sheriff's Office due to the incident taking place outside WPPD jurisdiction.
June 24
Officer Ivie Powell spoke with the victim of a theft reporting their bag containing a computer and other items taken from their vehicle sometime between 06/23/2025 and 06/24/2025 while parked at their residence. This matter remains under investigation.
Officer Jesse Martin responded to Chippewa for a report of a possible domestic altercation. His investigation learned a subject possibly suffered a mental health crisis. EMS transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental health evaluation. No charges are being sought.

Officer Nathaniel Siegrist arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Joseph Trombley took a report of shoplifting from Caseys on Gibson.
Officers responded to a residence in reference to a domestic incident. His investigation discovered a couple in a romantic relationship engaged in a verbal argument that became physical. They arrested the male party and placed them on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges. This case and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for review.
July 25
Officer Daiman Meyer arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Powell responded to Washington Avenue for a requested well-being-check. After contacting the individual they made statements of having homicidal ideations. EMS transported the individual to OZH for a 96 hour hold for a mental evaluation.
Officer Dobbs arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officers responded to a business in reference to a two-vehicle accident. Investigation discovered an intoxicated driver rear ended another vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Officers found the subject had active warrants out of 2 other agencies. They arrested the subject and placed them on a 24 hour hold.
June 26
Officer Powell responded to Lanton Road referencing a suicidal individual. EMS transported the individual to OZH and placed them on a 96 hour hold for a mental evaluation.
Officer Shell arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Caleb Kerley responded to Saint Louis Street in regard to a domestic disturbance in progress involving a firearm. Investigation determined a suspect assaulted another at the residence and brandished a firearm at members of her family prior to fleeing the scene on foot. They identified the suspect and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
June 27
Officer Meyer arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Vernon took a report of a court order of protection violation. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cpl. Brandon Stephens arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
June 28
Officer Kerley responded to McFarland Drive in regard to a report of a possible burglary. Upon further investigation the victim chose not to cooperate. This case will be inactive.
Officer Tyler Gill arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
June 29
Officer Kerley spoke to an individual regarding a financial scam.
June 30
Officer Tombley responded to the Dollar General on Lincoln for the report of an attempted burglary. Investigation determined two unidentified juveniles cut power to the building and attempted to gain entry through the front doors of the business. This case is currently still under investigation.
Officer Tombley responded to a possible burglary in progress on Simpson Street. After an investigation he found a trespassing situation. Charges will be forwarded to the Municipal Prosecutor's Office.
July 1
Officer Powell arrested an individual on an out of state outstanding warrant.
Officer Keepes responded to the area of Thayer Avenue to speak with a female who had been bitten by a loose dog. They issued the owner of the animal citations and transported the animal to the West Plains Dog Pound.
Officers responded to Lanton Road in reference to a death. They found no foul play.
Officer Vernon conducted a traffic stop and during the stop, discovered the vehicle stolen out of Oklahoma. The occupants in the vehicle are suspects of the theft. This case will be forwarded to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Officers responded to US Highway 63 near the bridge over McFarland Drive for a report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Investigation learned a vehicle struck a subject walking in the southbound lanes. They pronounced the subject deceased on scene. This case is under investigation.
July 2
Officer Vernon responded to St Louis St. at the request of Children's Division. For a report of child abuse. This incident took place outside our jurisdiction.
Officer Vernon responded to Ozark Health Care for a report of trespassing. During the investigation the individual threatened one of the security guards. When attempting to issue a citation the individual then made threats toward law enforcement. They resisted arrest from law enforcement and they placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
July 3
Cpl. Trent Kinder took a report of an assault. Charges in the incident will be forwarded to the Prosecutor for review.
Officer Powell spoke with the victim of a theft reporting they forgot their wallet at a restaurant located off of Preacher Roe. Upon returning to the restaurant, they discovered the wallet missing and not turned into the employees. This matter remains under investigation.
Officers spoke to an individual in reference to a court order violation. They discovered a parent failed to exchange children with the other. This case and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors office for review.
Officers took a report of a protection order violation. They found one individual violated a protection order against another. This case and a probable cause statement will be referred to the Howell County prosecutors' Office.
July 5
Officer Tombley responded to the area of W 6th St for the report of a domestic altercation. He arrested an individual involved in the incident.
Officer Shell responded to East Olden for a report of a disturbance. They arrested a subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Sgt. Reid responded to Cherry Street in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance. His investigation found the matter to be verbal in nature.
July 6
Officer Kerley spoke with an individual regarding a vehicle theft. His investigation discovered an employee stole the vehicle. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Officer Gill responded to Imperial Drive several times for a 911 caller making false allegations. Charges will be filed with the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Tombley took a report of a missing juvenile.
