The Howell County Sheriff's Office requested digital forensics be conducted on a cellular device as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction.
September 9
Cpl. Micah McKemie investigated an accident with one vehicle leaving the scene.
Officer Nathaniel Siegrist responded to Southern Hills Center in reference to lewd and immoral conduct. They trespassed the individual from the business.
September 10
Cpl. Wesley Stuart received a report of a runaway juvenile from Terra Drive. The juvenile later returned to the residence of their own accord.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield, and the Taney County Sheriff's Office executed a residential search warrant on Shelton Drive, Hollister, concerning the sexual exploitation of children. They took one subject into custody and seized several items capable of storing digital media as evidence.
Officer Brent Keepes responded to Court Square for a property damage report
Cpl. McKemie responded to Lanton Road for suspicious circumstances regarding children. His investigation found children left at a residence without contact from the parent. A report will be completed to the Missouri Abuse & Neglect Hotline.
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Farrell Street for a report of an assault. His investigation resulted in two juveniles being arrested and processed accordingly. This case will be referred to the Howell County Juvenile Office for review.
September 11
Cpl. Stuart responded to Jackson Street for the theft of a bicycle. He located the suspect and returned the bicycle to the owner.
while conducting business checks on Preacher Roe Blvd., Cpl. Stuart located a building with an unsecured door. He checked the business, and nothing appeared to have been disturbed with suspicious activity. He secured the business.
Officer Brandon Vernon responded to Jefferson for a report of a juvenile problem. They took the juvenile to the emergency room at the guardian's request.
Officer Brent Keepes responded to a residence on Jefferson for a juvenile actively assaulting staff members. They took the Juvenile into custody and to The Howell County Juvenile Office. Charges will be sought.
Officers responded to Lanton Road in reference to the report of a small child being struck by a motor vehicle. They found the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of law enforcement. West Plains Police Officers and Howell County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a thorough search of the area. They identified the driver, and the case remains active and open. 
Cpl. Stuart responded to Katherine Drive for a report of a theft of a credit or debit device. This case will be under investigation.
September 12
Officer Caleb Kerley responded to Jackson Street for a juvenile problem. They transported the juvenile to hospital for treatment.
Officer Jacob Miller took a report of terroristic threats made by a juvenile. This case will be referred to the Juvenile Office.
Officers received information of a possible threat to the West Plains School District. A school resource officer spoke to another school district reporting a student posted a photo of them with a gun and a school shooting song attached to it. Officers located the posts and found no targeted threat to harm the West Plains School District or its students. This case will be under investigation.
Officer Shell responded to Pine St for a report of a burglary. They arrested a subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of stolen property.
Officers on duty at an event at the West Plains High School stopped a juvenile bringing a backpack inside. A consent to search the pack found a nicotine vape. They seized the vape and this case will be sent to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Mingus took a report of a verbal disturbance. 
September 13
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski located an open door at a business on Bill Virdon Boulevard. He cleared the business and found it to be unoccupied and secured it without incident.
Cpl. Brandon Stephens responded to the intersection of Porter Wagoner Blvd. and Broadway for a person disturbing the peace. After multiple reports and attempts to get the individual to stop they issued a citation for peace disturbance.
Officer Siegrist took a report of verbal domestic disturbance on Lanton Road.
Officer Mingus responded to Gibson St. for a report of stealing. An individual attempted to purchase several items with counterfeit bills.
Officer Siegrist responded to the intersection of US 63 and Lanton Road for an individual standing in the middle of the roadway. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a 96-hour mental evaluation.
September 14
Officer Kerley conducted a wellbeing check on Lincoln Ave. His investigation found a violation of a protection order. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors' Office.
Officer Meyer responded to Gibson Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. He conducted an investigation and provided a subject with alternative services. This case is closed.
Officer Barrett responded to Jefferson Avenue for a report of an out-of-control juvenile actively assaulting staff members. 
Officer Shell responded to Renfrow for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Officer Mingus responded to Deatherage for graffiti. Several pieces of playground equipment were vandalized with vulgar images.
Cpl. Stuart responded to Ozarks Healthcare in reference to an individual with a gunshot wound. He determined the incident an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, and no criminal charges will be sought for this matter.
September 15
Officer Kerley responded to Jefferson Ave regarding a disturbance with a juvenile assailant. They transported the juvenile to the hospital for treatment.
Officer Powell trespassed an individual from Wendy’s after a report of them harassing customers. 
Officer Conner Burnes investigated a report of a juvenile in possession of nicotine products. This case will be sent to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Martin investigated a call of suspicious circumstances. He took one suspect into custody.
Officer Keepes responded to Lincoln Avenue regarding a three-year-old juvenile wandering on the street without parental supervision. He safely returned the child to her residence with her mother. He advised Missouri Children's Division of the situation and will be completing an investigation. No charges will be sought at this time.
Officer Keepes responded to Broadway regarding a subject trespassing and refusing to leave. When the subject refused to leave after being lawfully told to do so officers took them into custody. Once at West Plains Jail they damaged a camera and resisted again. They later transported them to the hospital for 96-hour mental evaluation hold.
September 16
Officer Martin took a report of theft on Joann Drive.
Animal Control Officer Brad Jones responded to Ozarks Healthcare for a report of a three-year-old child bitten in the face by a dog. He located the dog and transported it to the animal control facility and issued the dog's owner a summons.
September 17
Officer Gill responded to Locust Street for a report of a domestic assault. After an investigation they took one suspect into custody pending formal charges from the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
The Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield (MO), U.S. Postal Service Inspections, Alton Police Department, and the Oregon County Sheriff's Office, executed a residential search warrant of a registered sex offender, concerning the sexual exploitation of children. They took one subject into custody and transported them to the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office. Additional charges are pending the completion of digital forensics.
Officer Martin investigated a report of an assault. He arrested one individual and placed them on a hold, pending charges.
Officer Meyer took a report of theft. The case will be referred to the West Plains Detective Division.
Officer Dobbs responded to the area of Porter Wagoner Boulevard near West Sixth Street for a report of an assault. An individual reported an unknown subject thew a cup of water at them and they wished to pursue charges. Charges will be sought upon successful identification of the suspect.
Officer Keepes responded to US Highway 63 in reference to a possible case of elderly abuse. The situation will be reported to Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Sgt. Reid responded to Thayer Avenue to conduct a wellbeing check of a juvenile. No criminal charges will be pursued, and he reported the matter to the Department of Social Services.
Officer Dobbs investigated a non-injury private property vehicle accident at Sonic. This case will be closed due to noncompliant victim.
September 18
Officer Shell responded to Woodland Ave to assist with a medical call with CPR in progress. They later pronounced the person deceased. 
Officer Shell responded to the Aquatics Park parking lot for a report of an assault.
Officer Shell responded to West Broadway Ave. for a report of a disturbance in progress. He later arrested a subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. Charges will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Courthouse for review.
Sgt. Reid responded to Winchester Drive in reference to a report of a burglary. The case remains active and open at this time.
Cpl. Stuart responded to KC'S Sports Bistro for a report of a theft. This case is open and is still under investigation.
September 19
Officer Vernon took a report of harassment from Lanton Road.
Officer Dobbs responded to Crestwood Circle to assist children's division in an investigation of possible child abuse. 
Officer Dobbs responded to Snappy Mart 49 located on Porter Wagoner Boulivard for a report of a gas drive off. This case is under investigation.
Officer Dobbs responded to a commercial alarm. 
September 20
While conducting foot patrol on Main Street, Officer Kerley found an open door. Officers then conducted a security sweep of the building.
Officer Barrett responded to Meadow for a wellbeing check on small children in the roadway unattended. As a result of the investigation, two adults will be facing charges for child endangerment.
Officer Siegrist responded to Lanton Road for a disturbance. He trespassed the individual from the residence.
September 21
Officer Beavers responded to Kentucky Ave in reference to a domestic altercation. His investigation found one individual pushed the other during a custody exchange. Neither of the parties involved wanted to press charges.
Officer Tombley investigated a report of a missing juvenile in the area of Grave Ave. They later located the juvenile and returned them to the legal guardian.
Officer Martin took a report of a court order violation.
