Officers investigating the theft of numerous catalytic converters and other items from several persons/businesses in the City of West Plains obtained a search warrant for a suspect's residence, and multiple items of stolen property, tools used in the thefts, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Officer Joel Lovelace responded to Seminole for a report of unconscious subject. They found the subject to be deceased.
Detective Jeremy Pounders took a report of theft of a center console and bucket seats for a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer. The investigating is ongoing.
Officer Barrett took a report from an individual stating that someone they knew had assaulted them at an earlier date. The case will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for review. 
Officer Barrett received a report of stolen motorcycle license plates. The matter is under investigation. 
School Resource Officer Connor Burnes responded to a juvenile found to be in possession of a nicotine vaper product. This case will be forwarded to the Juvenile Court.
Officer Whitley Clark received a report of a juvenile in possession of a nicotine vape. No charges are pursued at this time. 
SRO Burnes responded to a report of a juvenile assaulted by another juvenile. This case is still under investigation.  
Officer Jacob Brixey responded to Parkway Shopping Center for a report of an active physical domestic disturbance. The case is considered active and open, pending further investigation. 
Officer Stephens took a report of shoplifting from a business on Preacher Roe Blvd. He identified a suspect and charges will be forwarded to the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.
Officer Brixey responded to Porter Wagoner for a report of a catalytic converter theft. The incident is open and under investigation. 
May 2
D&S cycle reported the theft of 4 tires and wheels from a Honda 4-wheeler. The incident is believed to have occurred between January 31st and February 21st. On April 28th Detectives serving a search warrant for stolen property at a residence on County Road 6540 located the stolen items. Officers took a suspect taken into custody and charges in this matter are pending. 
Officer Ivie Powell took a report of a financial scam. The case is under investigation. 
Officer Brixey responded to Paula Drive for a report of dogs running loose. He issued the owners citations. 
Corporal Micah McKemie responded to Tiffany Street in reference to a medical emergency.  Investigation discovered a subject to be deceased. The subject had a long line of medical issues. The death was believed to be from natural causes and no foul play being involved. 
May 3
Corporal Thomas Manning responded to Anne in reference to a domestic disturbance. Both parties agreed to separate for the day. 
SRO Burnes responded for a trespasser located on Olden. Investigation found the suspect had been told not to return to the property on a prior day. This case will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutors Office for review. 
Corporal Manning took a report in reference to a stealing case. Officers are conducting an investigation. This case is pending further information. 
Corporal McKemie responded to McFarland Drive in reference to an out-of-control juvenile. During investigation, he learned a juvenile assaulted the mother and threatened to harm themselves. They transported the juvenile to the hospital. 
Officer Brixey responded to Old Airport Road for a report of a catalytic converter theft. The incident is open and under investigation. 
May 4
The parent of a juvenile reported that an educator had inappropriately communicated to a child in a covert manner. A cellular device and digital storage device were presented as evidence supporting the allegations. Detective Joe Neuschwander also reported to the Missouri Child Abuse Hotline. The investigation is on-going. 
Officer Clark responded Olden Street for a report a juvenile in possession THC gummies. A probable cause statement and juvenile referral has been forwarded to the Juvenile Office for Possession of Marijuana.
Corporal McKemie responded to Pennsylvania Avenue in reference to a property damage incident. Due to lack of evidence, the case is closed. 
Corporal McKemie responded Preacher Roe Blvd in reference to a Stealing incident. Investigation found that an individual stole items from the business. Cpl. McKemie arrested the individual and transported them to the West Plains Police Department Jail.
May 5
Corporal Wesley Stuart responded to Dixon Street for a possible domestic disturbance. The victim would not cooperate with the filing of charges. The two parties were separated for the night and this case had been closed. 
Officer Lovelace responded to Holiday Lane for a report of stealing. The case is open and under investigation. 
Officer Powell took a report of a hit and run accident on Preacher Roe Blvd. The matter remains under investigation. 
Officer Lovelace responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of a hit and run accident. The incident is open and under investigation. 
Officer Keepes received a report on Kentucky Street regarding stealing. Investigation found cash stolen by an unknown subject. Further investigation will be conducted. 
Cpl. Stuart responded to West Fifth Street in reference to a violation of a protection order and stealing a motor vehicle. Howell County Sheriff's Department assisted with the vehicle recovery. They took the suspect into custody and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges for the listed offenses. 
May 6
Sergeant Joshua Wichowski responded to a large disturbance in the area of Circle Drive. Investigation determined that a felony assault had been committed by multiple individuals. Formal charges will be sought for two subjects.
Cpl. Stuart responded to the area of court square for juveniles climbing on vehicles owned by Howell County. They located the juveniles and determined that the vehicles were not damaged. Officers returned the juveniles to their residence. 
Cpl. McKemie responded to Creamery Road in reference to a disturbance. A subject had trespassed in a residence. The subject received citations.
Officer Lovelace responded to 1st Street for a report of stealing. They identified a suspect and the incident is open and under investigation.  
Cpl. McKemie took a report of possible child endangerment. A subject reported his wife aggressively placed their child in a vehicle. Cpl. McKemie filed the report with Missouri Abuse & Neglect Hotline. 
May 7
Officer Lovelace responded to Holiday Lane for a report of a protection order violation. Charges were forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
