Calls for Service
August 14
Officer Martin responded to Seminole Street to a report of a verbal disturbance. Investigation learned a verbal altercation occurred. Both parties agreed to separate inside the home for the remainder of the evening. 
Officer Austin Deshazo responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of a disturbance and people yelling. He found a female attempting to remove a male from her residence. Investigation discovered a verbal dispute with no physical contact.
Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of a stolen canoe.
Officer Martin responded to West Leyda for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers conducted a search of the area and located the juvenile. They transported the juvenile back to the residence and turned them over to a parent. 
Officer Ivie Powell responded to Preacher Roe in reference to a theft report. The reporting party advised an employee had under charged items and not paid the actual price of the items. They arrested the suspect and transported them to the West Plains Jail. 
August 15
The Howell County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force concerning the Sexual Enticement of a Child in the State of Kansas. The suspect has been identified as residing in rural Howell County. The investigation is ongoing. 
Officer Brent Keepes responded to Hubert Redburn for a peace disturbance. He learned that a domestic incident occurred.
August 16
Officer Martin responded to West Leyda for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers conducted a search of the area and located the juvenile. They transported the juvenile back to the residence and turned them over to a parent. 
Officer Powell took a report on W. Maple in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival the victim advised a subject known to them entered the residence, stole the keys to their vehicle, and left. This matter remains under investigation. 
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Broadway Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. He discovered a husband and pushed his wife. The parties separated and completed a report.
Officer Meyer took a report regarding a burglary that occurred on Palmer Street. This case is active and open pending further investigation.  
Officer Keepes responded to Holiday Lane to speak with an individual regarding a stolen purse and credit card. Two suspects were identified. Charges are being forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 
August 17
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to Lanton Road in reference to a burglary. The victim refused to pursue charges. 
Officer Meyer responded to Broadway Street for a call of a suspicious subject. The reporting party gave a description of the suspect and stated he exposed himself inappropriately. They later located the male subject and placed him on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor for further legal action. 
Officer Mingus took a report on Quail Run for a stealing not in progress. This case is still under investigation. 
August 18
Sgt. Wichowski responded to South Harlin Drive for a report of an open line 911 call. Investigation determined a domestic assault occurred at the residence in which no injuries were sustained. The victim refused to cooperate with prosecution of the incident. All parties were separated, and a report was completed for documentation purposes. This case should be considered closed. 
Officer Stephens took a report on Division for a runaway juvenile. Two male juveniles were entered as missing but later located.
August 19
Officers responded to Casey's General Store for an employee refusing to leave the property. Upon arrival, they identified the suspect and he refused to leave the property. They transported the subject for booking.
August 20
Officers took a report in reference to an assault. Officer Siegrist completed and forwarded a report to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for review. 
Officer Mingus received a report on Aid Ave. for stealing not in progress. The victim loaned the vehicle to an individual who did not return it. Efforts are being made to locate the vehicle and the driver.
