August 21
Officer Ivie Powell responded to Broadway in reference to a subject sleeping on the bench. Investigation found the person to have an active arrest warrant out of Howell County.
August 22
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, indicating that DropBox, Inc. had observed files depicting child sexual abuse material on their servers. The suspect is identified as residing in the Howell County, Missouri area.
Officer Brent Keepes responded to Quail Run for a physical domestic. He took two subjects into custody and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Washington Avenue for a report of a domestic violence incident. The victim did not wish to pursue legal action. This case should be considered closed.
August 23
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, indicating that a juvenile male reported that he was being blackmailed on the social media application Snap Chat by a female user ID. No credible leads exist supporting further investigation.
August 24
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to US Highway 63 in reference to a suicidal subject. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation.
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Casey's General Store located on Gibson Avenue for a report of a male subject attempting to force a female subject into a vehicle. Investigation determined that a male subject had unlawfully restrained a female subject by forcing her to drive a vehicle under threat of violence to a location against her will. Officers arrested the suspect and him placed on a twenty-four hour hold pending formal charges.
Officer Powell received a report from Quail Run Subdivision in reference to a theft report. A victim reported their medications missing. This matter remains under investigation.
Officer Joel Lovelace received a report from an outside law enforcement agency in reference to a counterfeit check. The incident is open and under investigation.
Officers took a report of a juvenile offense. Officer Whitley Clark took the juvenile into custody and transported them to the Juvenile Office on charges for Truancy, Peace Disturbance, Assault 3rd Degree on Law Enforcement, Resisting Arrest, and Person under 18 in possession of Tobacco Vapor Products.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver refused to identify themselves and then fled from officers. Officers deployed spike strips and then pursued the vehicle. Once the vehicle left the city limits officers terminated the pursuit. They identified the driver and charges are being sought.
August 25
Det. Joe Neuschwander took a report from an individual reporting that an adult male is in possession and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files that depicts them as a juvenile. The matter is under investigation.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received two Cyber Tip Reports from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), indicating that an adult male was actively sexually assaulting children in the West Plains area. The two reports were determined to contain false information concerning the allegations. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Officer Meyer responded to Davidson Street for a report of a domestic altercation. He found the victim unwilling to pursue legal action. This case should be considered closed due to the victim's refusal to pursue legal action.
Officer Mingus responded to Hubert Redburn for a disturbance. The victim stated that an individual damaged their phone beyond use. He issued a summons to the subject for property damage.
August 26
Officer Meyer responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a report of trespassing. He located a visibly intoxicated subject. He took the subject into protective custody. This case will be referred to the Howell County Municipal Prosecutor for review.
August 27
Officer Deshazo responded to Lanton Road for a report of an assault. Investigation learned a pregnant female assaulted by a male individual. He arrested the suspect. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Officer Deshazo responded to Monks Street for a report of a juvenile walking in the road. He returned a runaway juvenile to the custody of the guardian. A report will be referred to the Howell County Juvenile Division.
Officer Siegrist responded to East State Route K in reference to a protection order violation. He arrested the suspect and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
Officers responded to Country Club Drive in reference to a report of Property Damage. Investigation discovered that a subject broke a window and damaged the garage door of the residence. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.
