January 1
Officer Martin responded to West Olden for a reported domestic disturbance. Investigation determined an assault took place and placed a subject under arrest. Charges will be filed.
Officer Heuchelin took a report of an assault. A report will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for formal charges.
Sgt. Brandon Romans responded to Shuttee Street for a report of a possible domestic disturbance. He determined two individuals related and residing with one another had a verbal altercation. No charges are pending, and the case is closed.
January 2
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a report of an active business alarm. He cleaned the business located no subjects. This report should be considered closed.
Officer Jacob Miller received a report of an assault. The report will be closed due to an uncooperative victim.
Officer Connor Burnes for a report of three juveniles in an abandoned residence. This case will be sent to the juvenile office.
Officer Whitley Clark received a report of trespassing at the high school. She arrested the subject and transported them to the West Plains Police Department.
Cpl. Thomas Manning responded to Holiday Lane regarding an assault. Officers conducted an investigation and this case should be considered closed.
January 3
Officer Meyer responded to Leyda Street for a report of a runaway juvenile. He located the juvenile and returned to them to their residence. This case will be referred to the Juvenile Office for review.
Officer Burnes received a report of a juvenile that ran away from school and they suspected of being in possession of marijuana. He located the juvenile and found nothing in their possession. This case is still under investigation.
January 4
ACO Brad Jones received a report of excessively barking dogs from an individual willing to sign a complaint. He contacted the owner and issued a citation.
January 5
Officer Heuchelin assisted an individual requesting mental health assistance.
The West Plains Police Department served a narcotics related search warrant on Harlin Drive. Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia related to the distribution of illegal narcotics were located at the residence as well as an illegal firearm. Three suspects were taken into custody pending charges.
Officer Barrett responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a report of a two-vehicle crash with vehicle 1 leaving the scene.
Officer Jacob Miller responded to North US Highway 63 for stealing not in progress. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. This case is closed.
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to Webster Ave. in reference to an assault. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.
Officer Siegrist received a report from Dollar General on Bill Virdon Blvd for stealing. He identified the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
January 6
Cpl. Micah McKemie assisted with a tree falling on a power line on Hynes Street.
Cpl. Stephens responded to the Southern Hills Shopping Center in reference to a theft that occurred on 11-28-23. The suspects have been identified and charges will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
Officer Siegrist received a report from E. Maple in reference to a suicidal subject. They transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare and completed an affidavit.
January 7
Officer Austin Deshazo received a report from a business of theft by an individual. A report will be referred to the detective division for further investigation.
Officer Robert Shell took a report of stealing from a business on Preacher Roe Blvd. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Officer Shell took a report of a peace disturbance.
