Officer Austin Deshazo responded to West Broadway for a report of a suspicious person. Officers arrested a subject with active warrants.
Sgt. Brandon Romans responded to Grace Avenue on report of two males fighting. Investigation determined two individuals had a verbal and physical altercation. Neither party required medical treatment. The incident is pending further investigation.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received a Cyber Tip Report from the Nat'l Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that DropBox, Inc. had observed files depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on their servers. The suspect is identified as residing in the Douglas County, Missouri area.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force Received a Cyber Tip Report from the Nat'l Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that Microsoft Online Operations (Bing Image) had observed files depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on their servers. The suspect is identified as residing in the Wright County, Missouri area.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force Received a Cyber Tip Report from the Nat'l Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that Snap, Inc. had observed a message thread of a perpetrator sexstorting a child victim. Thex victim is identified as residing in the Howell County, Missouri area.
Officer Connor Burnes received a report for a drug offense of a juvenile in possession of marijuana. The substance and paraphernalia were seized and will be sent to a laboratory for further testing. This case is still under investigation.
Officer Jacob Brixey responded to the Grizzly Lofts for a report of a male wearing dark clothing who entered the building and later left. Officers identified a suspect and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
February 6
Officer Deshazo responded to Missouri Avenue for a report of trespassing. An individual attempted to flee from officers, and they took them into custody a short time later. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Officer Robert Shell responded to Snappy Mart East to a report of an individual causing a disturbance. Officers identified a suspect and located them a few blocks away. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell Municipal Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Brent Keepes responded to Ozarks Healthcare for an agency assist. They placed a juvenile on a 96-hour mental evaluation hold.
February 7
Officer Burnes received a report of a juvenile in possession of nicotine products. This case will be sent to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Whitley Clark received a report of a juvenile in possession of a nicotine vape. A juvenile referral will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Brixey responded to Washington Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance at the residence. They transported an individual to Ozarks Healthcare and placed them on a 96-hour hold.
Officer Brixey received a request from State Route K to investigate the report of a missing juvenile. Officers did not locate the juvenile and they entered them as a missing juvenile.
February 8
Cpl. Stephens investigated a report of an individual bitten by a dog. They quarantined the dog and issued citations to the owners.
Cpl. Micah McKemie took a report of stealing from State Route 17.
Cpl. Thomas Manning recorded an incident that occurred with two inmates. Neither inmate wished to pursue formal charges.
Cpl. Stephens responded to Burgoyne St. for a report of a stolen electric bicycle. This case is still open and under investigation.
Officer Keepes responded to South Howell Avenue regarding a report of a suicidal person. The individual assaulted staff members and they transported them by EMS for a 96-hour hold. Probable cause statement will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office.
The West Plains Police Department received several reports of a social media post containing information of a possible threat to students and staff of the West Plains R-7 School District. The West Plains Police Department and West Plains R-7 School District worked closely to investigate the matter and concluded that there are no current threats to the school district or community at this time.
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to Lasswell in reference to a juvenile problem. They transported the juvenile to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental health evaluation.
February 9
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Cedarhurst Assisted Living for a request of a wellbeing check.
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Walker Street for a report of an ongoing disturbance. He trespassed a subject from the residence. This case should be considered closed due to no legal action being sought.
Officer Heuchelin took a theft report from Walmart asset protection regarding an unknown person shoplifting an item.
Officer Barrett responded to East Davis for a report of a domestic assault. Interviews with one individual revealed another assaulted them but they refused to cooperate with the investigation. This case is considered closed.
Officer Ivie Powell took a report of a stolen wallet from Southern Hills Shopping Center parking lot.
Officer Jerry Mingus received a report of stealing. This case remains open for further investigation.
Officer Siegrist responded to US Highway 63 in reference to a verbal disturbance.
February 10
Officer Heuchelin took a report of a verbal domestic that took place on Aldridge.
Officer Jacob Miller responded to Porter Wagoner for a dog bite. EMS transported an individual to the hospital for evaluation.
Officer Miller took a report of property damage from Meadow Drive.
Officer Mingus responded to Crestwood for a disturbance that occurred between a mother and daughter. The parties were separated.
Officer Martin responded to Creamery Road for a reported domestic incident. No charges will be sought due to an uncooperative victim.
February 11
Officer Deshazo responded to a residence on Lee Anna Drive for a report of an overdose. EMS treated the subject who did not wish to be transported to Ozarks Healthcare.
Officer Shell received a report of a domestic in progress on Walker St.
Cpl. Manning responded to Kentucky in reference to an assault. The suspect could not be interviewed due to being sedated.
