December 30
Officer Jesse Martin responded to Ozarks Healthcare for a reported assault. Investigation determined a crime took place. Charges will be sought.
Cpl. Micah McKemie arrested a subject on Thornburgh Street for an active arrest warrant. During the search of the subject, he located two smoking pipes used to consume methamphetamine.
Officer Brent Keepes arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Keepes responded to Crestwood Circle for a runaway juvenile. Officers later located the juvenile and returned them home.
December 31
Officer Jacob Miller responded to Nebraska for a report of a burglary. This case will be under investigation.
Officer Miller took a report of a stolen dog.
Officer Martin responded to Jefferson Avenue for a report of stealing. Investigation identified a suspect. Charges will be sought.
Officer Keepes responded to Jefferson Street for a disturbance. They located an individual with active warrants who fled from law enforcement. Charges will be sought.
Officer Dobbs responded to FCC Behavior Health for a report of a runaway juvenile. This case is open for further investigation.
Cpl. McKemie investigated a domestic violence incident on Terra Street. Investigation learned two subjects, who are married, engaged into a verbal dispute which resulted in physical contact with each other. Neither victim cooperated with officers. The spouses separated for the night.
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski arrested an individual with an outstanding warrant.
January 1
Officer Gill responded to Anne Drive for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile a short time later and returned them to the custody of the parents without incident.
Cpl. Wesley Stuart responded to Eastwood for a report of a domestic disturbance. The parties agreed to separate for the night to deescalate the situation.
Officer Martin responded to a verbal domestic in progress at the West Plains Police Department lobby. No charges will be filed.
Officer Keepes responded to 6th Street for a report of property damage to a vehicle. Investigation learned an individual damaged a vehicle. Charges will be sought.
Cpl. Stuart responded to Grace Avenue for an individual having a mental health crisis. The transported the individual to Ozarks Healthcare and placed them on a 96 hour hold for a mental health evaluation.
January 2
Officer Daiman Meyer spoke to an individual regarding a prior assault. He found both parties intoxicated at unable to give accurate statements. The investigation will remain open until after speaking to a witness.
Animal Control Officer Brad Jones responded to Bruce Smith Parkway in regards to an animal bite. He spoke to a 71-year-old individual stating that while walking their dog, another dog bit them and their dog. Officer Jones noted injuries to both the individual and dog. He located the other dog and placed it in the animal control facility for observation.
Sgt. Brandon Romans responded to a residence on Bruce Smith Parkway for a report of a burglary. The incident will be under investigation.
Sgt. Colter Reid responded to the intersection of Harlin Drive and Renfrow Steet in reference to a report of a two-vehicle accident blocking the roadway. Investigation discovered one driver under the influence of alcohol. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Keepes arrested an individual with an outstanding warrant.
Officer Meyer conducted a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Blvd. During a consent to search he located drug paraphernalia. This case will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.
January 3
Officer Chris Barrett took a report of a stolen cell phone.
While investigating a vehicle crash at the area of Broadway Street and Porter Wagoner Boulevard Officer Dobbs arrested one of the drivers for an outstanding warrant.
January 4
Officer Martin responded to Pine Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation learned an individual experienced a mental health crisis and they transported them to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental health evaluation.
Officer Barrett arrested an individual for an outstanding warrant.
Officer Martin spoke with individuals reporting an assault involving a juvenile. A report will be sent to the juvenile office.
Officer Siegrist responded to Woods St for a domestic incident. He arrested one subject and a report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
January 5
Officer Siegrist responded to West Second Street for an assault. The parties separated and no charges will be filed at this time.
Cpl. McKemie investigated a stealing incident on Jefferson Ave. Charges will be sought.
Officer Siegrist responded to Cynthia St in reference to a dog bite. They transported an individual to Ozarks Healthcare for medical attention and place the dog on a ten-day quarantine at the West Plains Animal Control facility.
