Cpl. Brandon Stephens arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Jacob Miller took a report of a sexual assault.
Officer Jerry Mingus arrested an individual with an outstanding warrant.
Officer Nathaniel Siegrist responded to South Howell Avenue for a domestic incident. He found a verbal argument occurred and documented the incident.
Cpl. Micah McKemie took a report of a possible identity theft. The case is under investigation.
January 21
Officer Brent Keepes arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Keepes spoke with an individual reporting an assault that occurred on Burke Ave. Investigation resulted with a subject taken into custody and placed on a 24 hour hold.
January 22
Officer Ivie Powell took a report of a previously occurring domestic disturbance.
Officer Powell arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.
Det. Joel Lovelace took a report of a child sexual assault. The case is under investigation.
Officer Chris Barrett received notice of an open business door. Officers conducted a security check and found nothing out of place.
HSI-Springfield, the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, and the Taney County Sheriff's Office, executed a residential search warrant on Winston Lane in Hollister. They seized several items capable of storing digital media as evidence and charges are pending the completion of digital forensics.
January 23
Officer Daiman Meyer arrested an individual for driving while intoxicated.
The West Plains Special Response Team served a search warrant for a residence located in the 400 block of Joe Jones Blvd. During the search a subject with active arrest warrants was located and taken into custody. There were numerous articles related to the consumption of narcotics and officers seized those items. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officer Powell responded to Renfrow in reference to an unconscious individual with CPR in progress. Medical personnel performed life saving measures until pronouncing the victim deceased. This matter will be closed after determining the individual died from natural causes.
The Howell County Sheriff's Office requested digital forensic extractions be conducted on two cellular devices as part of an on-going investigation within their jurisdiction. Detectives performed the process and the devices and forensic reports will be returned to the case agent.
Officer Keepes arrested two individuals on outstanding warrants.
January 24
Officer Conner Burnes responded to investigate messages from a juvenile alleging a sexual assault to their juvenile and wanted to buy a firearm. Investigation learned the subject had mental health conditions and no assault against the sibling took place. Officers sent for a mental evaluation after speaking with the parents and Juvenile Office.
Officer Mingus took a report of fraudulent use of a credit device.
Officer Gill attempted to conduct a traffic stop and vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed in attempt to evade the traffic stop. The vehicle came to a stop and the driver fled on foot. Officers later apprehended the driver and placed them under lawful arrest pending formal charges.
January 26
Officer Jacob Beadell arrested an individual for driving while intoxicated.
Officer Shell arrested two individuals during a traffic stop for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officer Siegrist responded to Casey’s General Store on Gibson in reference to an intoxicated individual causing a disturbance. Investigation learned the individual stole merchandise from the store. Officers arrested the individual.
Cpl. McKemie took a report of a sexual assault that took place in another jurisdiction. The report will be forwarded to that jurisdiction.
Officer Shell took a report of property damage from an individual on Burke Ave.
Cpl. McKemie responded to Washington Ave for a report of an assault. Investigation found a subject struck another in the head several times. The victim refused to cooperate with prosecution.
