August 13
Animal Control followed up at a Willow Springs residence from a prior complaint of too many animals. In speaking with the resident, Animal Control informed them that they were out of compliance with two city ordinances: one for keeping more than 12 chickens at a home inside city limits and the second for keeping more than four dogs over the age of six months at a home inside city limits.  Animal Control advised the resident to remove all the extra animals from the property. A follow up was scheduled on August 20 to ensure that the animals had been removed.  
A police officer visited a home on North Walnut St. for a report of two children being rough with each other. The officer spoke to the children who said they were just playing
The police department completed a building check at the golf course.
August 14
The police department completed a building check at Booster Field.
The police department responded to an emergency distress alert from a resident on W. Fourth St.  Once on scene, the officers determined that the emergency distress alert was set off by accident.
Animal Control responded to a complaint of a dog tearing up a woman’s garden.  Animal Control took the dog back to its home and cited the owner. 
August 15
The police department completed a building check at the golf course.
The police department completed a building check at Booster Field.
A police officer was dispatched to the cemetery on DD Highway for a report of an ATV driving around the property.  On scene there was no sign of the ATV.  
August 16
911 informed the police department of a truck on Highway 63 traveling eastbound that had no lights on their trailer. A Willow Springs police officer found the vehicle stopped on the Highway 60/63 ramp at Industrial Dr.  The officer found the brake and signal lights were working on the trailer.  The officer instructed the driver to pull into the Love’s parking lot so he could further inspect the trailer lights.  Once in the parking lot, the officer found a bare wire was the cause of the light failure.  He instructed the driver to continue home with the hazard lights so the trailer would be visible to approaching traffic.  The driver stated she would fix the trailer the following day.

A police officer responded to a reported domestic disturbance.  The reporting party stated that an individual staying with her and her husband is afraid of her husband, but has no where to go.  The reporting party states that her husband is very abusive.  The officer suggested taking the individual to Christos House, and the reporting party will take the individual there. 
A police officer responded to a report of a dog in distress in a silver car in a parking lot.  The officer found the vehicle and observed the dog panting heavily in the car.  The officer used a laser thermometer and determined the temperature in the car to be 113 degrees, even though the window was cracked.  The owner came out of the store and spoke to the officer.  The officer gave a warning to not let this happen again.
The police department received a report of disturbance at a residence on E. Main St.  Officers were sent to the location.  Upon arrival, the reporting party informed the officers that he was leaving and wanted to state that there was no problem. Officers spoke with the woman who resided there, and she stated everything was fine.
The police department documented a report of a drive off from SnappyMart with $35.00 in gas.  The video surveillance was unable to provide any identifying attributes of the vehicle or the driver.
An Electronic Benefit Transfer card was found and turned into the police department.
Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance.  The officers spoke with a man who was leaving.  The man stated that he was walking away as he was causing a problem.
August 17
The police department researched a report of a neighbor charging items to an individual’s telephone bill.  
A woman called the police department to report her neighbors are using a device to cause her pain.  The police department advised her to seek medical attention to determine the source of the pain. 
The police department received a report of a violation of an order of exparte.  The police found there to be a miscommunication between the respondent of the order and his attorney.  The attorney had, in error, advised the respondent that the order had been rescinded. 
August 18
Police officers responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance between a man and a woman.  The officers spoke to the woman who said they were just having an argument.
A police officer responded to a report of a distressed woman at the Willow Springs Villa Apartments. 
The manager at Snappy Mart flagged down a police officer to inform him that there had been an abandoned vehicle in their parking lot for 10 days.  The police officer ran the license plates on a 1999 Dodge Durango and found the vehicle to belong to residents of Texas County.  The police officer informed the manager she could have it towed since it was on private property.  
A police officer provided security for an ambulance crew on a medical call.
A police officer responded to a domestic disturbance between a father and son.  Upon arrival, a young boy informed the officer that his grandfather and the other party had left.  The officer contacted the individuals later and found the issue had just been verbal.
A police officer acted as a witness to an eviction notice at a residence.
A police officer assisted the Willow Springs ambulance with a woman who had fallen into a cabinet. 
The police department was requested to assist with securing a vehicle after the driver had quit.  A police officer responded to the Love’s Truck stop, found the semi truck locked, and the keys in an envelope on the dispatchers desk with instructions.
Police officers responded to a report of illegal paraphernalia at the Dollar General.  The police officers found some small empty baggies, but no substance was located.  The officers disposed of the baggies.
