Calls for Service
August 24
An individual contacted officers regarding possible protection order violations. The information will be forwarded with a request for charges of harassment and a violation of the protection order.
Assistant Chief Alan Lewis responded to Town and Country for a report of assault. He could not locate the reporting party, and the suspect denied all allegations.
Officer David Struble assisted a pedestrian who fell while walking. 
Assistant Chief Lewis spoke with an individual regarding the process to retrieve items from an impounded vehicle. 
August 25
Officers received a report of an individual passed out in the yard of a residence on Grand Street. Responding officers found a subject sleeping and after waking them, issued citations for disorderly conduct and littering.
Officer Jake Cronin assisted EMS at Love’s Travel Stop with an individual who lost consciousness. 
Officer Cronin responded to Park Street for a disturbance. The parties separated prior to his arrival.
Animal Control Officer Mark Templemere received a call for a stray dog found by Subway.
August 26
Officer Wade Bloomer assisted fire and EMS with lift assistance on a medical call.
Officer Bloomer assisted fire and EMS with an individual reporting a snake bite.
Officer Cary Gates responded to Ash Street for a disturbance. The parties separated prior to his arrival.
Officer Joe Barnhouse responded to an individual having a panic attack and helped calm them down. The individual refused medical treatment. Officers later responded for the same individual and situation. A family member advised they would leave, which would resolve the problem. 
Officer Cronin took a report of a stolen bicycle.
ACO Templemere received a call from an officer regarding three dogs they were taking into custody. 
August 27
Officers responded to a residence on Summit St. The subject officers spoke to become irate and non-compliant. They arrested and later released the subject with citations for disorderly conduct. 
Officer Hedlesten assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.
Officer Gates took a report of theft from the residence of a deceased person. The investigation is ongoing. 
Officer Gates took a report from Sunshine Village of stealing. The investigation is ongoing.
August 28
Officer McGinnis conducted a building check of an open door on Turner Drive. He found the building secure.
Officer McGinnis conducted a building check of an open door on Lane Street. He found nothing inside.
August 29
Sgt. Hoopes removed reported debris from the roadway.
Officer Struble responded to Trimble Drive for a juvenile issue. He assisted the parent regarding information for mental health assistance.
August 30
Officer Hocking assisted EMS with a medical call on E Sixth Street.
 
8/29/23 Sgt. Hoopes received a call regarding an animal hit in the roadway.
