Area volleyball review

Some seasons come to an end; others move forward
As November starts, several volleyball seasons are coming to an end. Overall, the area saw some fantastic volleyball. Here is a breakdown of how some seasons wrapped and how some are moving forward.
Willow Springs Volleyball ended a record year with a 24-8-2 season record. Their season ended during the second round of Class 3 District 11 play falling to Hollister in three sets.
 
Mountain View Volleyball, another quality team with a record year, ended their season with a record of 20-10-5. They won the Class 2 District 9 Championship, their 5th consecutive title, before falling in sectional play to Miller in three sets.
 
Houston Volleyball ended their season as 21-12-3, falling to Mountain Grove in the second round of the Class 3 District 11 tournament in three sets.
 
Mountain Grove Volleyball ended their season with a 27-4-1 record, winning the Class 3 District 11 tournament before falling to Mt. Vernon in four sets during sectionals.
 
Cabool Volleyball had a banner year with a 29-7 season record before falling to Liberty in the Class 2 District 9 tournament in three sets.
 
West Plains Volleyball took second place in their Class 4 District 1 tournament with a season record of 27-12. They fell to Farmington in three sets.
 
Summersville Volleyball took second place in the Class 1 District 7 tournament falling to Winona in three sets. They ended their season with a record of 13-22.
 
Licking Volleyball won the Class 2 District 8 championship defeating Belle in three sets. The Lady Wildcats won sectionals defeating Stover in three sets. Licking played Hermann in quarterfinal action on Saturday, Nov. 2 where they were defeated in three sets. Their season record is 19-16.
 
Winona Volleyball won the Class 1 District 7 tournament defeating Summersville in three sets. They defeated Chadwick in three sets during sectional play. Winona played Bismarck on Saturday, Nov. 2 in quarterfinals. They defeated Bismarck 3-2 and will face Jasper during state semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8. Their season record currently sits at 32-3-2.
