Bears trounce the Tigers

The Willow Springs Bears took on the Salem Tigers on for their Homecoming Friday night. The Bears beat the Tigers 69-33 in one of the highest scores of the 2022 season.
The game started strong with the Tigers electing to receive the ball and catching it at the 40-yard line, where they made no progress against Willow and lost possession.
Upon receiving the ball, Gavin Ferguson forced it to the 20-yard line. From there, Taylor Rothermich made a 20-yard touchdown, with Thomas Sidorovich kicking the PAT, all within the first two minutes of the game.
Ryan Koehler intercepted a pass from the tigers on the bear 30 and ran it to the Tiger 47 before he was taken down. Gavin Ferguson was injured in the play and taken out of the game for a bit. Marcus Tinsley ran the ball for just shy of a touchdown, and the next play saw Scooter Osborn force his way through the left side and run it in. Once again, Thomas Sidorovich scored the kick.
Ryan Friga made a spectacular touch, receiving the ball from Rothermich and running it from the Tiger's 30-yard line to a touchdown, outrunning all the Tigers on his heels. Sidorovich once again kicked the ball for the PAT, and it was good.
Friga passed to Koehler, who ran it for a 14-yard touchdown. The PAT was good.
Ferguson ran in the next touchdown, streaking down left side and dodging two Tiger players and scoring. Right after this, Ferguson caught an errant Tiger football. From there, Friga made the first down and Ferguson found paydirt once again.
Rothermich and Friga each notched one more touchdown, and Sidorovich's kicks were all good, except for one that was intercepted.
Tinsley finished what he started in the first half after being taken down short of a touchdown, he ran the ball for his own six points.
John Salter also scored, effectively sealing the deal for the Salem Tigers.
Willow is now 3-3 in their season and takes on the undefeated Houston Tigers in an away game on Friday.
