Eagles baseball on a hot streak

Liberty High School athletes are winding down their seasons and looking into district competition. 
 
Liberty Eagles baseball has been on a hot streak, winning four of their last five games. The 11-8 Eagles are celebrating their first winning record in fifteen seasons. The Eagles hosted the 11-6 Bakersfield Lions in a day game Monday. The district bussed students to the baseball field to cheer on their Middle and High School baseball teams as they defeated the Lions. Liberty hosted Willow Springs Wednesday for a make-up game. The Eagles ended victoriously, defeating the Bears 6-3. LHS baseball wraps up their regular season this coming week, hosting Neelyville and Ellington, before going into the Class 3 District 9 tournament.  
LHS Softball closed out their roller coaster season with some tough losses. The Eagles hosted the Willow Springs Bears for their last regular season game. Liberty honored their seniors, Ashlynn Henry, Savannah Holdt, and Ella Phipps, between games. See the next edition for those photos. Eagles fell to the Bears 20-0. 
 
Liberty Soccer hosted Greenwood at home Monday night. Despite scoring first and moving the ball well, the Eagles fell to a physical Bluejay team 3-1. The Lady Eagles honored seniors, Aliyah Kramer and Kennedy Stallsworth. The Eagles then traveled to face the Dixon Bulldogs on Tuesday, bringing home a 3-0 victory. Liberty then traveled to Springfield Friday to face New Covenant Academy. The Eagles fell to the Warriors 1-8. The Lady Eagles ended their regular season with a record of 2-6-1 and will face the Fair Grove Lady Eagles on May 19 in the first round of the Class 1 District 3 tournament.
