Eagles Finish 6-1 in SCA

The MV-BT Liberty Eagles wrapped up their regular season play this week, leaving only the District tournament next week before their season comes to a close.
The Liberty Lady Eagles started the week off hosting the Thayer Bobcats. The junior varsity girls fell to the Bobcats 28-62. Liberty High School Cheerleaders hosted a youth camp for future cheerleaders, teaching cheers, chants, tumbling, and even a dance routine. These young Eagles got the chance to showcase what they've learned during a special performance at half time of the varsity girls’ game. The varsity Eagles led the Bobcats throughout the game but fell short of victory with a final score of 54-56.
The Eagles celebrated Senior Night Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles hosted the Plato Eagles while the boys hosted the Thayer Bobcats. The Lady Eagles soared over Plato with a big win 81-58. The varsity Eagles played hard, but lost to the state-ranked Bobcats by a buzzer-beater, 70-72. Terrell Gaines put up 43 points and Drew Ripko was good for 20.
The Lady Eagles traveled to Mountain Grove to face the Panthers on Thursday, where they dominated for the win, 60-42.
The Liberty boys traveled to Mountain Grove on Friday night to have another turn at the Panthers. 34 points from Drew Ripko, 33 from Terrell Gaines, and 10 points and a whopping 15 rebounds from sophomore Gavin Reese gave Liberty the edge. The Eagles defeat the Panthers 90-78 to finish 6-1 in the SCA. Terrell Gaines has moved up to the number 3 spot on Liberty's all-time high scoring list while Drew Ripko has filled the number 10 spot.
