Grizzly Volleyball Camps

Area youngsters who will be in second through twelfth grades during the 2022-23 academic year can develop their volleyball skills during the Grizzly Volleyball Summer Camps.
The camps will be offered in July at the West Plains Civic Center. They will be directed by Paula Wiedemann, head coach of the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Volleyball team.
The first camp, the Younger Kids Day Camp, is set for 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 11-12 for youths in second through seventh grade.
In this camp, volleyball fundamentals will be stressed in a fun and exciting atmosphere, Wiedemann said. Lightweight Volley-Lite and youth training balls will be used for younger campers, she added.
All campers will receive a T-shirt. Cost of the camp is $50 per person if registered by July 5. The cost is $60 after that date.
Skills Clinics will be offered July 12-14 for eighth through 12th graders. During these clinics, campers will work on overall skills, attacking/defense or setting/serving/passing. A multi-camp discount is available.
The Overall Skills clinic will be 1-4 p.m. July 12, the Attacking/Defense clinic from 1-4 p.m. July 13, and the Setting/Serving/Passing clinic from 1-4 p.m. July 14.
During these clinics, participants of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, will improve their fundamental skills, and develop technique through progression drills and individual/group work, Wiedemann said.
All campers in the skills clinics also will receive a T-shirt. Cost of the camp is $55 per person for each session if registered by July 5. The cost is $65 per session after that date.
Registrations will be taken until the first day of each camp session; however, those planning to attend should email in advance so organizers can plan accordingly and to guarantee correct T-shirt size.
