For the game: Shanks had 16 digs; Crudgington had 2 kills, 1 block and 2 digs; Holmes had 1 ace, 1 kill and 10 digs; Bryan had 1 ace and 5 digs; Johnson had 10 digs; Gilbert had 6 kills, 2 blocks and 1 digs; Sigman had 9 kills and 2 digs; Stuart had 1 ace, 9 kills, 1 block and 8 digs; Collins had 1 kill, 2 blocks and 2 digs.

Wrapping their week, the Lady Bears traveled to Thayer on Thursday, Sept. 26 where they defeated the Lady Bobcats in three 25-23, 28-26 and 27-25.

A junior on the Varsity team, Sydney Stuart, touched base with the News on how the Lady Bears did this past week. "Going into the Thayer game, Coach Collins wanted each of us to find a quote, to dig deeper for the game and focus on that. I chose 'If nothing changes, nothing changes' and I think the quotes helped us a lot. For me, if you won't change then your athletic ability will be stuck. I vividly remember last year going into five sets against Thayer. We wanted it so bad, just to redeem ourselves from last year. We wanted to prove that we could do it and to come back from our loss against Liberty. The season has been a lot of us learning to trust in each other, to trust your teammate. Putting my trust in my teammates is something I've learned and worked on throughout the years because they put their trust in me too."

Next up for the Lady Bears is a week at home against Salem on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and Ava on Thursday, Oct. 3. That weekend the Lady Bears will compete in the Houston Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 5.
