Lady Bears Take 7th at State Tournament

The doubles team of McKylie Cox and Madisyn Perkins competed at the MSHSAA state doubles tournament in Springfield on October 15 and 16. The top sixteen doubles teams from around the state played in this tournament.
In the opening round they played Westminster Christian Academy, losing 6-2, 6-1. In the next round, they played Clayton. They won this match 7-6, 6-4. Next, the Lady Bears faced a team from Mt. Vernon and won 6-4, 7-5.
By winning two matches on Friday, they qualified for the medal round on Saturday. On Saturday, they opened with Palmyra. They lost to Palmyra 6-2, 6-1. This put them in the 7th place match to close the tournament where they faced Maryville. They won 6-3, 6-3 to earn 7th place and All State honors for their season. Their season record was 12-3.
