Lady Bears volleyball go 1-2 in non-conference games

On Monday, the Licking Lady Cats come to Willow Springs looking to impose their will, and that they did. The Lady Cats took the match in 3 straight sets. Aspen Crudgington led the Lady Bears in kills with 8.
Tuesday, the Lady Bears battled the Winona Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bears tried their best, but Winona proved to be too much and also took the match in 3 straight sets. Hailey Sigman led the Lady Bears with 8 kills.
The team traveled Thursday to the big city of Plato looking to get the ship back on course and that they did. The Lady Bears took the first 2 sets 25-23 and closed the door on Plato in the third by a score of 25-21. Hailey Sigman and Lily Bolander would both finish the game with 9 kills a piece.
Saturday was the annual LHS classic volleyball tournament. The Bears secured the second seed in their pool by splitting sets with Steelville, beating Cabool in 2 sets, dropping 2 sets to Licking, and splitting with Summerville. This led the Lady Bears to the first round of bracket play where they faced the Mountain View Lady Eagles. Willow fell to the Lady Eagles in 2 sets, leaving them to compete for third place against conference rival, the Houston Lady Tigers. Houston took third place in 2 sets.
Up next for the Lady Bears is home Tuesday night for a SCA Conference game against the Cabool Lady Bulldogs at 5:30. The Lady Bears’ current record is 9-12-4.
